Curious if any have successfully concieved and delivered a baby after tubaligation? What are the chances of this actually happening? Almost 2 years ago I had my tubes tied during the c-section of my son. I am now showing signs of pregnancy. No I haven't taken a HPT,thats mostly because I can't believe it is possible, yet the signs are there, with the exception of a bulging stomach,it would be too soon. I am only a week late, but I was late last month as well, it was a shorter period then normal. The pregnancy symtoms could be some other issue ,like an ulcer or something ( extremely painfull heartburn, acid reflux, freguent unination, fatigue, breast tenderness, unterine cramping, more frquent bowl movements(which only happened when I was pregnant with all past pregnancies)). So I am curious if it is possible. I have a doctors appoinment May 18 for the heartbern issue, can't believe they can't see me before then,it really hurts. I know God is incontrol of all things, so what ever the out come, I am fine with it.

What can I do next?

YES you can get pregnant!! I am living proof of that. I will be 32 this month, I am 1 year and 1 week younger than my sister (that was supposed to be the last). I also have an aunt that got pregnant and my husband's ex-wife got pregnant. I also have had a tubiligation 10 years ago and I have had several times where I had symptoms of being pregnant but then I will start about a week later. You really should take a HPT to see.
Good Luck!!

I have heard some women have been so convinced they were pregnant that they had every symptom, even lactation! Your brain can trick your body many different ways. Take the HPT and if you see "negative", don't be surprised if you start in a few days. IF it IS positive, "walk in" to your OBGYN TODAY and ask to be squeezed in because you might have an ectopic pregnancy. If they don't comply ask to have your records released then find another doctor immediately! Someone mentioned it in an earlier post...Ectopic Preg can be life threatening!

First of all, find a new doctor. If your doctor's office can't make arrangements to see you when you're in pain, then they are useless. Secondly, I haven't known anyone who has gotten pregnant after a tubal, but I guess anything is possible. God has His ways! I would take a pregnancy test and then have a gyn check. It could just be that your hormones are changing. If your periods are lighter and further apart, you could be reaching early menopause. I have no idea how old you are though. Either way, you need to know. Good luck!

I am 31 years old, so its been many years, but my mother got her tubes tied after having me. Two years later, I have a sister. Her tubes were tied again and two years later we get a brother. So, this is possible. Needless to say after my brother she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had to have a hysterectotmy. Everyone tried to encourage my mother to go after the doctor. Her thought was that is was gods plan for her to have six children(we have three older siblings).

I haven't had this happen to me but I have heard of this happening to other women. And with your wonderful attitude I will add that with God all things are possible. I wouldn't stress cause that isn't gonna help anything. Maybe try a test or just wait and see what happens. Either way I wish you luck and I hope things turn out the way you hope.

I agree with the others. You need to see a doctor right away. Ignoring the symptoms are not going to make them go away. The best solution to any problem is to face it and start dealing with what every they are a symptom of. Wether that is preganancy or anything else.

Good Luck!

I have heard of people getting pregnant after tubal ligation. I do not know though. I am having some of the same sickness symptoms but I am not pregnant. I am going to see my primary care doctor today. Been to GYN already and nothing. I have an appointment with GI on May 19. Thats the first available. That is a while away. Let me know your outcome. Hope you feel better soon. I feel horrible and hope my docs can figure out what is wrong.

WAHM of 3, 5 year old,3 year old, and 5 month old. Love it!

My aunt got pregnant only 6 months after having a tubal. The pregnancy failed - I think it is called an eptopic pregnancy or something similar - it was one where the egg planted in the fallopian tube. She got very sick. She is okay now. The doctor went in and did another procedure to make sure that she did not have another pregnancy. That was about 10 years ago.

T., yes it is always possible. Sometimes the tubes "regrow" together maybe further down the line and give access to the uterus. Remember, even the heart will regrow small arteries to go around a blockage! Another concern could be a tubal pregnancy. Sorry to throw it out there, but you should see your doctor to rule it out. Best of luck and God Bless.

I think it's 1 in 1000 tied mothers concieve again. However, it could be some premenaposal symptoms too. I would stop wondering and take a HPT test and get a box of heartburn pills while you're at it. The best stuff is available over the counter. My husband takes one in the morning and one before dinner and his symptoms cleared up in less than a week.

Although I know it is possible, it isn't likely. I would go and get a HPT and if it is negative, get in to see your gyn ASAP. Your symptoms could signal something more serious.
