Don't stress it, Mom. Let him be who he's going to be. He's only two, so this can change. More than likely, it's a passing phase. Hang in there, Mom...this will be okay.

Hi Colleen!
My name is M. and I recently finished potty training my second son who is three. Since I also potty trained a VERY difficult daughter, I probably have a million tips or things to try. A few that I used with Cam the past year might work for you because they sound a lot alike! First, if he won't let you help him, I recommend buying a box of "Piddlers." They are these colorful round things made out of what looks like those packing peanuts and I've only seen them at Babies R US. He puts one in the potty and he is supposed to "shoot" it as if it's a target. I know it sounds bizzare, but they are meant to help control his aim and then they can be flushed right down the toilet! My son thought they were the greatest.
The biggest life saver for me I also found at Babies R US because my son refused to go on any other potty as well. It was only about $6 or $7 and it is a travel potty seat, not chair, with Sesame Street on it. It's plastic and folds up small enough to keep in your bag and fits right on top of any toilet seat. Cam loved it because it was his own and I loved it because it was cheap, compact, and truly worked! One last tip is if he won't let you help him wash his hands and he is too little to really do it himself is to buy him his own little bottle of antibacterial "no rinse" gel. This way he can do it himself, there is no water involved, and at least he's doing SOMETHING! My son loved that too. Good Luck to you, I know it feels like it is never going to end but trust me, it does! And my husband works 2 jobs over the summer and I am by myself with three kids most of the time so I know how you feel and it sucks. Let me know how you make out!

my son is three, he has the same problem he is overly clean. He refuses to go number 2 anywhere but home. He can't share food or drinks with anyone becuase he actually gags! It has caused a lot of problems with him holding number 2 in for too long. He spends three days a week in school and never uses the toilet for number 2. I have been trying to teach him to clean the seat himself when at school and at relatives houses, this helps him know it is clean enough to sit down. I think the travel potty seat is a good idea too although I havent tried it yet. good luck!

It sounds like he has some Obsessive-Compulsive issues. Does he have other sensory issues? Doesn't like loud noises, afraid of dogs, lacking eye contact... If so, it would be recommended to get him evaluated for Autism Spectrum Disorders. The sooner the better for the child
