Photos to Movie Software

I would like to make a photo gallery on DVD for my husband's 40th birthday. We are high school sweethearts, and he went through the 80's hair phase, and we got some pictures that are hilarious. Does anyone know of a good, inexpensive, software I can just download? Easy to use would be nice. I don't have a bunch of time.

So What Happened?

I used shutterfly, and it was very simple and the price wasn't too bad for what you get. Thanks for the quick response and the great advice to all!

I have used One True Media (onetruemedia.com) to make some really nice photo montages. You do a basic one for free or pay a bit more to have special effects. I have just sent them out by email and have never had them made into a DVD. The One True Media folks will do this, but I don't think it's cheap and I don't know how long it takes.

This is just an option if you don't want to buy the software. I made one for my sister's 40th.

Good luck!

at one time, shutterfly.com had a function where you could upload your photos to their website and create a DVD show (with animation and music). You don't download the software - it's built in to their website. I can't recall the cost.

Picasa is great application, I would say the best! It's fee, you can search and download it. It allow you to do so many things and very easy to use. Mac though does not support it, but they have I photo and I movie which is great too and it's already on the box. But my guess is you don't use mac, otherwise you'll know. So in that case check Picasa.

I use onetruemedia.com you can put together photos, video, and music (you can upload your own)- arrange how you want, and add special effects if you like. It's free to use the basic account which is what I do. You can purchase the DVD from them or you can send it (free)via email to everyone or post on your facebook/ my space/ or family web page. I do this every month to keep my family updated on how my little girl is growing and they LOVE it. I can send a sample of what I have done if you are interested on seeing what you can do with this site, or just poke around the site yourself.

I use Windows Moviemaker and it's very user-friendly. It came with my computer just like the last person said. If you have Windows, you probably have Moviemaker. Have fun!

My laptop that has Windows XP on it came with Windows Movie Maker. It's a free program I believe and it's very user friendly. You just click import photos to bring them into the program, place them on the timeline, add music if you like. Then you can play with the effects like transitions and fading. It doesn't do a lot, but enough for most people's needs.

One word of advice. SAVE constantly as it locks up a lot. But what more can you expect from a free program. Have fun!
