Dear Moms,

I have a question regarding the reading on my ovulation kit. It is one of the ones that you compare the two lines (supposed to be ovulating when they match in color). In my case it finially reached the right coloration or at least half of the line became the right color. It has looked the same for 3 days (counting today); any suggestions as to why? I take the tests when I first get up in the morning, that way I know there's no 'recent' drinks interfering with the results.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

For those of you who took the time to give me some hope, thank you!!

I decided that the tests are only sorta accurate at best and not cost effective. Decided to start paying attention to the cervical mucious instead. Seems to be working.

I had my son through invetro and we are now going to be using the frozen emboyos that we have. I had to buy 3 boxes of the ovulation kits to finaly get a surge. When I asked the nurse at the dr's office she had said that the tests are really not always all that accurate and that they dont always work on everyone. Dont get discouraged you will get there. Good Luck!

You may have not had your surge just yet. When they match exactly is when you will be ovulating in 24 hours. My husband and I went thru this same thing. i found that clear blue easy ( i think)the one with th smiley face is the way to go. You get the smiley and you will be ovulating in 24 hours.
Good Luck, have fun, and most of all relax!

I too have tried the ovulation tests and they are not very easy to use nor understand....this past month I purchased a Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, although they cost about $200 from a drugstore you can usually get brand new ones on e-bay for a whole lot cheaper and they are worth the money...very easy to use and well worth the money..hope this helped.

Hi K., we used the clear blue ovulation monitor and it was a little expensive but so worth it. If your husband has flex spending at work you can get the monitor and test sticks reimbursed. It was nice because it didn't just give you when you ovulated but when you were in HIGH fertility. Check it out.
