Nutritious Drink Mixes?

My four year old daughter is a very picky eater, so I worry about her getting enough protein and fiber. The only way she'll drink milk is if Strawberry flavored Nesquick is added. I'm looking for a more nutritional (preferrably strawberry flavor) powder that I can add to her milk that will give her both protein and fiber? esspecially fiber because she has periodic bouts of constipation. Appreciate any ideas on this. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for your input everyone!! I tried strawberry Nutrapals and that was a no-go. I didn't like the taste of it myself, so I thought I would gradually introduce her to it and only added 1/3 cup to her strawberry Nesquick and she could tell the difference. I'm going to try Carnation instant breakfast sometime, do some Benefiber and I read that pears are high in fiber - we'll try pear/applesauce too. Thank goodness she has come around to applesauce (I know - seems like most kids like applesauce, she's just extremely picky) so that is helping a little with constipation. Appreciate the feedback, thanks all! :)

Try Jay Robb protein mixes. I used them while I was pregnant to get my 100 grams of protein daily. The chocolate was yucky to me, vanilla my favorite. They do require quite a bit of stirring. I can put them in my son's milk and he doesn't notice that its not nesquik.
Also, they come in small packets at the store- I use about 1/4 packet per sippy cut of milk and shake vigorously.

Please check out the Shaklee Protein Cinch shake mixes. We actually have a strawberry. It mixes well with milk. Check my site at www.livingwithsolutions.com and click on the cinch program. It is designed to be a weight loss program which I use everyday and it is a wonderful shake full of all kind of nutritious things. My grand children call it "grandma'a special drink" when they come to my house. They love it and it's good for them. There are four different flavors. I always use less than the suggested amount and it's delicious. The vanilla you can make whatever flavor you want. There is also Chocolate and Cafe Late. Check it out and let me know we have incentives and deals ALWAYS!! It's Good stuff!!

Have you tried Yo-J? My daughter hates the taste of milk... I think its the feeling of milk that she gets grossed out with. We tried Yo-J (it does come in Strawberry) and she loves it. Its half yogurt, half juice. Its really good for kids, and tastes good to them. Plus its thinner then milk in consistancy. Give it a try with her, you never know. Heres the website for it - http://www.kemps.com/products/prodListing.aspx?plc=35&amp...

You can get it in your grocery store and its not that expensive. Here in Wisconsin its 3.20 for a half gallon of it.

Shaklee makes a weight management drink called Cinch that has a great Stawberry flavor. I have asked our head of medical affairs about using it with people who don't need to loose weigtht (I am a personal trainer) and she has told me it is fine, just don't cut out everything she was eating before.
You can find it at http://www.shaklee.net/healthforlife You may also want to check out their childrens vitamins.

We're just starting to introduce milk to my son and he is not a fan so far. However, I make a low-carb smoothie for myself and he loves it!

1 cup frozen mixed berries
1 cup of ice
1/2 cup of milk
strawberry banana yogurt (I use 1/2 a serving of Kroger's Carbmaster yogurt)
protein powder

It's got a serving of fruit, protein and dairy, and the berries and Carbmaster yogurt have fiber in them! Healthy and the kids think they are getting an ice cream-type treat!

An excellent source of protein that I have used for my daughter is a product called Nutribiotic Rice Protein Powder. It comes in different flavors, such as vanilla, chocolate, and berry. You can buy it at Whole Foods Market or you can buy it online directly from the company. As for the fiber issue, I would expose her to as many fresh, uncooked fruits and vegetables that she likes and give her ample servings at every meal. I hope this information helps you.
