Hi I'm 18 years old i got married in January 14, 2008 ( i was 17) ... 4 months later we decided to have a babe just about a week or 2 i had a really bad abdominal pain everything i would take in (ex. water or food) i would throw it up my husband and i thought i was pregnant but the pain was to strong that i was scared that i might of been having a miscarriage i was taken to the hospital there they did a blood test to see if i was pregnant and the results were negative i was passed by a tube for X-rays and was told that i had a kidney stone and that there was nothing they could do cause it was in my ureter it is expected to come out on its own all they gave me was hydrocodone for the pain i have not released the stone... Does anyone know if having the kidney stone in my ureter has anything to do with be not being abel to get pregnant?

You have gotten a lot of the same advice from all of the other posts and I agree with most of what they are all saying.

Kidney stone: If you are still having pain, talk to your doctor (or Urologist if you have one would be the better choice) to see if you need another U/S. I've had 2 that have passed on their own, but they were very small. Did they give you an estimate of the size of your stone? Depending on how big it is, you may be able to get them to break it up (don't remember how) so it will pass easier. When the time comes for you to finally have a child, delivering without pain medication will be easier then what you have experienced with this current situation.

As for getting pregnant, there are many reasons why you might not be conceiving. Finding out more about ovulation and how your body works will help tremendously.

That being said, and I am not judging in any way, merely talking from my experiences...Married or not, why on Earth would you want to start a family at your age? Yes, babies are wonderful, once you get passed the sleepless nights, the teething, the colic, the..... But babies grow up and have a whole new set of demands. You are barely out of the "child" stage as it is. Don't rush things. Enjoy time with your husband now while you can because once you have a child, your relationship will change. Too many couples split up after having a child. Even ones that have been married for a while or are just plain out older then the two of you. It is true that children can be wonderful, but they suck the life out of you as well. Take this opportunity to get to know who you are and what you want to do before you become somebody's mother for the rest of your life. If you don't take the time to get to know yourself, once your baby grows older and does not want you around, you will end up having an identity crisis because you will not have any direction in your life.

What do you want to be when you grow up...After your child leaves the nest...

Find out now before it is too late!

You need to buy yourself a book on the female body. It is very important to know how your parts work so that you are able to make informed medical decisions for yourself. Every woman should do this if they are not familiar with their body and how it works. You urethra (the hole where urine comes out)is the pathway to your bladder, kidneys, etc. It is located right below your clitoris and above the vagina. This will not affect your ability to become pregnant. As you are young, I would give it another six months. After that go to the Doctor to have some tests. If you or your husband are under alot of stress it makes it harder to become pregnant. I became pregnant right after I quit worrying so much about it. Good luck and blessing to you.

probably not, but despite that I think you should give it a couple years before you try to get pregnant. Married or not, 18 is too young. I had a baby at 19 and it was so hard to do that, go to college, work and maintain a relationship! I did graduate, but it took 6-7 years and I am no longer in that same relationship...thank God!

I think that you need to find a good doctor (gynecologist) whom you can feel really comfortable talking to, to explain the stages of pregnancy and what would be going on inside your body. I don't mean to make it sound elementary, but it is not likely that two weeks after conception, you would feel so violently ill due to pregnancy or miscarriage.

Also, you might want to talk to a doctor or assistant about how long it might take for the stone(s) to pass. Some things you can't control, but you do NOT want to deal with pregnancy and kidney stones if you can help it...unless the doctors believe that the pregnancy would, somehow, move it along.

Hi Y.,
I don;t think you should even attempt to get pregnant until you have a clean bill of health from your doctor. If you are having health issues that are this severe- you would have a difficult time caring for an infant.
You and your hubby have only had a few months with each other and it would really be wiser, and make you both better parents if you just waited a little while before having children. I had my first at 17, and while he was the best joy of mylife at his birth, it was not really fair to him to have such a young and immature set of parents. Just be sure you are truly healthy with no medical issues before going thru pregnancy.
good luck and blessings

Y.,
This is what I do any time I am helping my husband to get rid of his kidney stone. I get about 6 bundles of parsley and wash them good and but it in the blender and chop them as fine as you can. You may add some water may be ¼ of a cup in order to get the parsley chopped up well. Then use the strainer to drain out the slimy juice out. You need to drink about 1/8 of the cup twice a day do it for a week, In the morning and in the evening. That slimy juice will move out your stone before you know it. This has been working for us for many many years hope it will work for you too.
Call me if you have any question.

Having a kidney stone does not cause you from getting pregnant. You need to drink a lot of water and stay away from anything caffine if you are trying to get pregnant. The water will help you from getting more kidney stones. I want to warn you that when you do get pregnant you are more prone to getting more kidney stones. You might want to see a urologist to get checked out before you get pregnant. The urinary system is totally different than the female genital system. Don't see a gynocologist until you have been trying to concieve for a year. Make sure that you have intercourse on day 12, 14, and 16 of you cycle. That is when most women ovulate. It worked for me. I hope that this helps you.

I don't think kidney stones have anything to do with being able to or not being able to get pregnant. I had kidney stones during my last trimester and I thought I was in labor it felt just like it and it hurt. This was my second child. My advice to you is to take care of yourself make sure yo are eating well, excercising, resting, not smoking, etc. You need to go to the book store, library, and start reading about fertility, pregnancy, conception arm yourself with knowledge. From what I understand from your post you have been trying to get pregnant for a year? I would find a doctor to get checked out. Take it from me when you are young you get treated somewhat differently when it comes to pregnancy thats why I say learn as much as you can. I wish you the best of luck.

Hi, regarding your kidney stones, I write a health blog providing free natural health remedies and advice. In my research I recently came across an obscure article on a totally natural, almost free, no side effect cure for kidney stones. Here is the link to the appropriate blog post:
http://www.healingsimply.com/2009/04/26/a-natural-home-cu...
Give this treatment a try and your pain will be gone.
As far as preventing you from becoming pregnant; the reproductive system and the excretory system are separate systems, so a modern mediical point of view says one will not prevent the other from working, so kidney stones will not prevent pregnancy. However, from a more holistic point of view, having kidney stones may be putting stress on your whole body and could therefore possibly prevent ovulation.

If you do try this easy cure please let me know how it works for you!

There are only 2 days a month that you can get pregnant and you need to understand how ovulation works. We used "the Billings Method" to conceive our first child. You can google it and get all kinds of information about charting your monthly cycle and the best days of the month to conceive a child. A good book to get pregnant naturally is "Taking Charge of your fertility". You can probably get it at the library, because it's been around a while. Good luck.
