I am trying to find a non-toxic lunchbox for kids. I see several options online. Does anyone recommend a particular brand that they have been pleased with and trust to not have lead, PVC or BPA?
Thanks!

What can I do next?

I don't believe all the hyped news and we are in the plastics industry.

It is a great marketing tool for merchandisers to sell you the same plastic lunchbox for more money.

if you are that concerned...... use a brown paper bag.

Unless your child is going to be attempting to eat his/her lunchbox, I don't think you need to worry about them having a plastic lunch box =)

I think you would be safe with any fabric based lunch sack (box). with items that are made of fabric, there will be a tag, most likely made of polyester or an easily washable fabric. Items imported now have a very rigid safety standard, especially concering lead...especially with items that are near food!
You can always use paper sacks to recycle, and you will know those are safe. Or use one of the resuable sacks that grocery stores have. Some stores have smaller versions that wouldn't be too overwhelming for a lunch.

Try a paper sack or something from tupperware. PVC is plastic, you're going to find plastic in most things these days. good luck.

M., this is a great question! In response the poster below, you don't have to "eat" a product for it to harm you.

Check out www.citizenpip.com Their products are free of lead, phthalates and BPA.

Are you on Facebook? If you are, look up ecoSAFE. It's such a great blog! They research all sorts of eco and human friendly products.
Also, www.uggamugga.com has great product reviews.

My children carry neoprene lunch totes that I got at Walmart for $3. I'm sure that they don't suck on them, heat them, or try to eat them. They are both healthy and happy and they enjoy every bite of their lunches.

Relax. Send the child to school with whatever lunch box he likes be it Scooby Doo or Under Dog.
