My one year old daughter wears Luvs (size 3) throughout the day and does fine but the last few nights she has peed up her tummy at night time. She sleeps on her tummy most of the time (with her butt in the air). Do you mommies have any recommendations on what diapers to use at night time to keep her dry?
THANKS!

Going up a size at night usually works. Otherwise try to reduce how much she drinks right before bed? Give her more, earlier in the evening?

And I wanted to warn about using a sanitary pad in a diaper - that was something recommended to us when we had the same issue and my daughter had a terrible reaction to it- sanitary pads are meant for adults and not made for the sensitive skin of a baby! She was horribly uncomfortable for a nearly a month before it finally cleared up! It took 3-4 days to show up and when it did she was in a lot of pain! So please do NOT use something that is meant for an adult on a baby!

With both of my kids, I used Luvs one size up from what they wear in the daytime and they have both been tummy sleepers. I have never had any problems doing that. Good Luck!

I use Huggies overnights, I like them the best! My son is 2, but still a belly sleeper and they work well for us.

We use Pampers Night Time diapers in size bigger. And my son is a tummy sleeper too. Sometimes he does pee through once and awhile. But not usually. Goodluck.

They make something called a "diaper doubler" that might help for nighttime. We always used Huggies OverNites with my son and they worked very well for us.

The type of diaper does not matter. With my daughter, I would use a maxi pad (the thin kind) at the top of her diaper. Take the strip off of the pad & attach it to the diaper with the pad side toward her belly. The will take care of it, it did for me.

Goood luck! :)

I saw a comment that says Huggies doesn't have an overnight size 3 but they do...I bought them yesterday. However, my baby is in a size 2 in the daytime. I do size 3 for nighttime now. I had the same problem and posted it about a week ago. A lot of mamas told me to put a pad (sanitary napkin) at the top front of the diaper. It has worked 2 nights in a row. Good luck mama!

Huggies overnight diapers work great. My older son peed a LOT (still does, but fortunately now in the potty...) and he was fine with the size 4 overnight diapers until 2 1/2 years old.

I have a 13 month baby boy and we use the Huggies overnight diapers and love them. We tried the Pampers too, but we prefer the Huggies! I think you will be very happy witht them.

We have been having the same problem with our twins, who are 16mos. We use Luvs during the day now, and got Pampers Extra Protection for at night, since they don't have Goodnites in their size. They have worked great so far, and we have had only one instance when one of the boys woke up soaked - and that was because someone (my husband!) put the diaper on backwards! lol They run about $19.99 a case, and if you sign up on Pampers.com, they'll send you coupons for up to $3 off.

Hope this helps!

I use Fisher Price Overnights a size bigger (you can get them at Babies R Us). Huggies didn't work for my son.

We were in the exact situation. My daughter is now two and not quite potty trained. We either use Luvs or cloth diapers during the day but we use Pampers (extra protection I think they are called) at night and it has worked great. My daughter is a big water drinker so she wets quite heavily at night.

Huggies overnights! Never have had a leak again. Changing sheets is no fun! If you don't already, a small tip: Layer her sheets with mattress cover, sheet, mattress cover, sheet. That way when she pees through the first set, you can just take that one off and already have the bed made.

We had the same problem - different brand. It worked for us to go up one size just at night.

We use the Target Up&Up diapers on our daughter and she wears them day and night. We haven't had any problems with leaks. You could also just get a size bigger for at night, just make sure to they are tight at the tummy when you put them on. These are much cheaper than Huggies & Pampers

We had just gotten a sample of the Pampers diapers in the mail and my daughter had a nice wet belly after using them...

We always just moved up one size diaper for night time use. It worked great plus we always had the next size diaper avaiable for when we needed to move up a size.

I would really check the diaper during the day time too.. is it starting to look like a speedo on her? IF so, maybe its time to move up to the next size. Recently we were finishing up the last of our size 3's with my son and we discovered that we really needed 4's at night, even though 3's worked fine during the day. We moved up one size for night time (not an overnight diaper, just a regular one) and it worked out just fine to get us through the last few days worth of size 3's.

My son has had the exact same problem and is in the same size diaper as your daughter. and sleeps in that same position. huggies and pampers both make overnight diapers. but not in a size 3. (something that has always iritated me like they think smaller babies don't have problem soaking through) we have been using huggies overnight size four and they work pretty well. he has gone from soaking through everynight to only once or twice a month. if the huggies seem way to big fisherprice just came out with an overnight diaper that is a size 3, and to my knowledge they are the only ones who make that size

sometimes, you have to use a size bigger for night, but that depends on what you think her diaper size works like now. maybe its too big. otherwise, you could try pampers. they are more expensive, but i didnt have any trouble with them EVER until my son outgrew a size. luvs leaked every time. feel free to write to the company with your troubles too; if nothing else you might get some great coupons :P

We like the pampers night diapers. With our son, we also had to put the diaper up higher in the front at bedtime.
