Have you actively applied for positions? I don't mean to be mean, but it sounds like you are waiting for someone to call and offer you a job...

Check your local job listings, craigslist and check out local pre-schools to see if they have job openings.
It's a down economy and it takes a while to find a job, one month is really not enough time to get discouraged.
One more thing...you only mention experience, not education. If you do not have a formal education in Early Childhood Development and you see this as your career, consider taking classes while you are looking for a job, that will make you more marketable.

Call the school district and inquire about being a subsitute teacher this career field is always in high demand and you can work when you want to

Unfortunately a lot of people are having to look for a "Plan B" Congrats on stepping outside the box. I am a retired Ultrasound Technologist that was forced into early retirement due to a injury from a car accident. I have done my research before finding a home business that I love. My first suggestion is to stay away from MLM's. While some people are successful in these companies they are set up for only few to make money. The rest wind up with a lot of boxes in the living room and they find themselves in the NFL(No Friends Left) club. Traditional MLM compensation is designed for failure. You are in competition with everyone and you have to meet levels each month to receive compensation. The problem with MLM's is that if you do not reach these levels in time you will experience the FLUSH which simply means that your accrued sales go away and you can not earn money on them anymore. This is why you see boxes and boxes of product in the living rooms of Amway & Herbalife distributors. They had to purchase these products to reach a sales goal so that they could cut a check. I work alongside an 18 year-old multi-billion dollar internet product brokerage company that specializes in one-to-one marketing. This business is designed for the average person with 10-15 hours to devote to a proven business plan. I am what is called an Unfranchise Owner which simply means that I reap the benefits of owning a Franchise, i.e: standardized training, materials, and a PROVEN plan to become successful. I didn't however invest the the traditional $150,000 that a Franchise costs and I do not pay royalties, I receive them. The average Unfranchise Owner after 2-3 years earns $142,000 of residual income. I get paid every Monday regardless of whether I worked that week or not. Of course this is not a get rich scheme. This will require a lot of time and effort to grow your business. The great thing is that you always have someone to help you. There are groups of people meeting near Avondale AZ every week talking about building their businesses and helping each other out. One of my business partners retired from teaching by working her own Unfranchise Business. This may not be a fit for you, but I believe you must keep your mind and heart open and educate yourself before jumping into anything. Have you asked at the numerous school districts in the area about openings for teacher assistant? I worked as a teacher assistant when I lived at the coast and found the job by calling the school district office and speaking to Human Resources.

School districts also have aides who work with educationally challenged students. In Portland, the aide spends the entire day with a student so that the student can be mainstreamed. Special Ed classrooms have several aides. This position is the result of the Federal Law also known as No Child Left Behind law. The only requirements are a high school diploma and experience with children.

Have you called nanny Services and babysitting organizations and asked for an interview? This site probably has the names of some in your area but you can also find them in the yellow pages and advertised in the freebie parenting magazines that you can find at grocery stores and children's stores.

Do you have an interest in being a nanny for a baby or toddler at someone else's home? They have nanny sites on the web. My son used that to hire the nanny for his child. Many people don't want to trust sending their child to a school at this age. If you have references, look presentable, love children, and can follow their wishes, it pays more than childcare in a school. I don't know the going rate in Arizona. His rate is over $400 for 4 long days. His wife's mother takes the 5th day. They don't provide insurance. Some will provide catastrophic insurance. Some pay more. There is also senior companions. Good rates come from well to do people who have money to pay for quality care.
