Hi Moms, I need your help. I live in Southwest Fort Worth and I'm trying to figure out where to put my son (will be 4 in late August) in swimming lessons this summer. He's never had lessons. Has anyone had success with a program in SW Fort Worth that they could recommend? At someone's home? At the YMCA? I want to do what's best for him - but I just can't seem to figure that out. I'd LOVE your recommendations, please! Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have a friend that is training to be an instructor. She took her children to learn from same school and it was excellent. She will be instructing my children in the end of may, since we are going to the beaches this summer. It's a survival swimming class, 4 days a week, one on one instructor. Kids typically learn to swim between 4 - 6 wks. She will be teaching at a home in N. Ft worth near beach and western center. For more details check out www.infantaquatics.com. She doesn't have her bio-page yet till she finishes her training. If you like to speak to her, her email is ____@____.com

The YMCA is a good place. I don't know how far you are from Burleson/Ft. Worth line. Huguley Hospital on 35W South has a Fitness Center that offers lessons. They are great and even offer private lessons to get the extra attention.

I dont know how far you want to drive, but there is an Emler Swim school in Colleyville and Arlington-Pantego area.
I am enrolling my son in that this summer.
The YMCAs usually have swim lessons that are good also
Good luck!

I too live in SWFW. We have always done Swimming with Syb, but she retired, so last year we moved over to FE Family Swim School. They are wonderful!!! Here is the site: http://www.fwfamilyswimschool.com/

I would contact them immediately as they started taking reservations in late March I believe. I'm still waiting on them to get back to me about my swim times.

I have also heard that TCU has a great swimming area and lessons. Go Frogs!

Hulen Street Baptist Church has swim lessons in their pool during the summer. I work at the church and my family and used to attend there. It's a great program. Also, I have a friend who teaches at her home. Her name is Paige Taff, let me know if you want her information.
