I am pregnant with my 2nd child and due in April. My husband and I have decided to announce the pregnancy to the grandparents with our Christmas gift. We were thinking of a photo ornament with a pic of our 1st child and a photo ornament with either the ultrasound or a stick figure drawing (neither of us can draw) of the 2nd child which can be changed out for a real pic when the baby is born. Does anyone have any better ideas?
We announced our 2nd baby with a picture of our son holding a sign that says "I got a baby sister or brother due in August!" Everyone thought it was so cute when we sent it to them!
TO announce our second child, we had a shirt made that said "BIG SISTER April 2006". Then we had our daughter and parents open the present together. It was a huge it!!!! Then when friends came over, we just had her were her shirt. Congrats!!!!
How about a nice picture of your child with a t-shirt in that says... I'm the BIG sister/brother on it. I've seen this done and it was really cute!

I'm pregnant now with my second and to tell our parents, we took our son to get a picture of him in a shirt that said I'm the big brother (my son was 6 1/2 mo at the time so the shirt was very big on him, 3T but looked really cute). When we gave it to the parents at first they thought it was a cute picture of our son standing then they noticed the shirt, it took some longer than others to notice.
I love your idea of an ultrasound picture. For another idea, a friend of mine dressed their first child in an "I am a big brother" shirt and waited for the grandparents to react.

Since most of my husbands family lives out of town we announced our second pregnancy with a picture of our daughter in a t-shirt that said Big Sister To Be. We had the t-shirt printed up at the t-shirt deli in Bucktown.
What we did, we bought a t-shirt for my older son saying on the back "I have a big news' and on the front 'I am going to be a big brother' and let him wear it to the grandparents. It was kind of cool because it took them a quite a while to figure out what that ment and if that's what we were really announcing.
I gave them a pciture in a fame of my first two children. In the corner outside the frame I placed a copy of the ultrasound. My mother in law didn't even notice so it was cute.

I have a friend who announced the second pregnancy by purchasing a shirt for your first child that says "I'm going to be a big brother" or "big brother" and then letting him wear it all day until they notice. It worked well and was a lot of fun for everyone.

We surprised her with a tshirt that said" grandma in training finally!" For her first, but you could subsitute the word "again" for "finally" she loved it as she could wear it walking with her friends and carry on the surprise.
We got it done at the mall.
