My Question Disappeared

I posted my first question on this site a day or two ago and got some great responses. I received an email notification today that I received another response. However, when I click on the email link to see the response it goes to a blank Mamapedia screen. So, I did a search for the question in the recent questions asked and it is completely gone. Has this happened to anyone else? Very disappointed if this site is going to delete questions. It was the one about my 7 year old wanting to breastfeed. On a side note he actually didn't bring it up yesterday or today, so maybe he's moving on!! :)

EDIT: Thank you for the responses. Leigh, I agree with you. I especially wanted to mark your comment as helpful, but I haven't yet figured out how to do that! Newby for sure! ;). Theresa, I also like your positive spin that this means I'm part of an elite group. lol! But seriously, it helped me feel less irritated about having my personal situation treated like it was not worthy of discussion. I'm a very non-judgmental mom and appreciate many different view points. As long as you're respectful of my viewpoint, I'll be respectful of yours. There is nothing about my post that was "troll-ish". My wish is that we not be quick to judge each other.

EDIT 2: Doris, I see your point. I haven't been to Cafe Mom, but I recently heard from someone else about how awful the input is on that site. So, I will avoid that one and stick to this one. A good balance would be good. Some removal, but not as much as is occurring here.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Administrators, I respectfully ask that you consider less censorship of your site. I received 10+ great, sincere responses to my legitimate parenting question, which I found in no way offensive. If someone reported it, they were overly sensitive. It was a real issue that needed real input. While a few thought the issue was abnormal, others thought it was a normal phase. Hopefully this site is open for discussion of all parenting topics regardless of people's differing opinions on them. Censorship saddens me.

I don't report trolls typically unless they are scammers (and I didn't this time, either), but troll posts do get reported and yours read like a troll post (a really far out scenario with potentially inappropriate overtones - trolls sometimes get their jollies by getting people to share about breast feeding and diapering - by a new poster with no track record). I doubt anyone found it offensive. The admins may have agreed it sounded like a troll post and yanked it. I've had posts pulled for no discernible reason before, too. There isn't always a rhyme or reason. But I'm guessing they saw troll potential.

Btw, I was accused of being a troll when I first came here. The vigilance and healthy skepticism of these very smart ladies is part of why I keep coming back.

I'm sorry the administrators deleted your question. I had read it and responded. If someone reported it as inappropriate, that someone clearly did not actually read the entire question or the responses.

Administrators, do YOU actually read things before you decide to delete them? Or is this site going to be only the blandest questions about potty training?....

I think people are too quick to call troll sometimes. It's usually on a first question with a sensitive topic and riddled with grammar errors. Your post didn't sound trollish as far as the writing. My thought is, if someone has an issue to sort out (which you did) and wasn't already part of a parenting forum then he/she will likely google "help from moms" or something similar and this website will likely pop up (that's why we're here, right?). Everyone has to have a first question, even if it's out of the realm of a normal question, it doesn't always mean troll.

I had a question deleted about leaving stuff on the tables when you go to places like McDonald's. A friend of mine did it all the time. It sort of annoyed me but she had a valid point. It keeps someone employed to clean up after people. So in her mind, and she'd been taught this in elementary school, she was doing a service for someone else.

It became a debate about lazy people and leaving carts in parking lots. It was gone. I reposted it in a slightly different way and that one wasn't deleted...go figure.

You wouldn't believe some of the stuff that people have come on here and written. Some of those people probably didn't think they came off as trollish either.

If there are mothers here who thought you were a troll, then you might consider HOW you asked your question. I didn't think you were a troll myself, but I'm a bit naive and get caught by some posters.

There are times when MP removes questions and answers and shouldn't. But I'd infinitely rather them keep this place decent, rather than it become another Cafe Mom. If you want to see a mess, go to that site.
