is it just me or is there anything worse than watching your child vomit because they are all congested with mucus? it just really makes me sick for the rest of day when this happens. and,the bad thing about young kids they don't know how to cough things up so it just settles in there until they puke it. anyways,just venting I have anxiety about seeing my child like this it has always bothered me,natural and no big deal compared to other things I know but am I the only one that feels sick about this?
Have them do a Neti Pot (get it at Walmart/Target etc) then if they are over 4, give them children's Mucinex. I can't take sinus medication except Clariton (it is the only one that does not wig me out) but I use the generic version. Doing these three things will GREATLY reduce the phlegm! Also, this is the time to teach them how to hawk a loogi :) Hope they feel better soon!
Nope..not alone. I used to be able to handle it, but now..if one of my kids throws up...it takes everything I have not to do so also!!! Top it off, I no longer can handle gushing blood or gaping wounds. It makes me want to faint! My kids are older now and trust me...the vomiting gets much worse when they are older.
Its soooooo sad when they're sick like this :-( Makes me wish I was the sick one! BUT when they do throw up the mucus, AT LEAST its not in their little body anymore ! thats one good thing. dont give them dairy products - that makes is worse. I hope your little luv feels better soon :-)
:( There isn't much that is worse then watching your child vomit except for maybe when my 3 yr old and I had a nasty stomach bug and were both in the bathroom vomiting. Its really tough when you can't comfort your baby :( because you are sick too.
