Morning Sickness. . .still

I'm about 28 weeks along and my "morning sickness" seems to be getting worse. It last all day without letting up and I feel terrible. The things that have worked earlier in the pregnancy are not helping at all now and with the heat here I'm not coping well at all. I see my midwife thurs, but was needing suggestions from other moms to help me out until then. Thanks--

What can I do next?

Are you on Iron pills? I was sick my entire pregnancy, morning..noon and middle of the night. Finally about 3 weeks before I delivered a friend asked if I was on iron pills and suggested I stop taking them for a few days. I did and my morning sickness went away!! I wish I had known that sooner!!! Good luck to you!

V.,
I don't know if this will help you, but a friend of mine said that smelling a nectarine would ease her sickeness. It can't hurt to try!

I was pretty much sick the entire time. Eating crackers and all that stuff didn't help. I found that I could keep small sips of gatorade down so I didn't get dehydrated. The only med that helped me was nexium (but it wasn't total relief). Just make sure you keep hydrated. Drink small sips of liquid so you won't get sick. Good luck!

I'm having the same problem, but I'm not that far along- I wear motion sickness bracelets. They help me a ton. I still need to make sure I'm eating every few hours, but they help so I am not nauseous all day long. I also try Preggo Pops from Motherhood Maternity- they are kind of like an emergency option that I keep in my purse. I hope you feel better!

I'm so sorry. ((Hugs)) I had horrible nausea and vomiting, and was occasionally hospitalized for it, with both of my pregnancies. With both, it continued until I was on the delivery table. There is a long name for an entire pregnancy of nausea/vomiting, but I don't remember it. I tried every home remedy I heard of and tried many medications as well. There is one for cancer patients, Zofran, that helped a little bit, but not a ton. I wish I could offer better suggestions, but my youngest is 5, so it's been awhile. Maybe there are better solutions available now. I hope so. Both of my babies are boys, and one doctor I saw said that he sees much more morning sickness with boy babies. Both of my boys were born early (one was 5 weeks early, one 4 weeks early), but both were very healthy and both were 7.5 pounds - they would have been huge! I had gestational diabetes with the second. Maybe this one is a boy?? Anyway, I'm wishing you a healthy baby, and I hope you get through this pregnancy with as little discomfort as possible.

if you are actively vomiting, please call your midwife asap. in this heat, you are going to dehydrate FAST which could throw you into preterm labor. you do not want to deliver a 28 week baby :( not sure if you've tried meds like zofran or phenergan, and while it's better to do no meds, meds are preferable to delivering an early baby. best of luck to you, be SURE you drink a lot.

Saltines never worked for me. I did keep Quaker oatmeal squares around to snack on and melba toast. Starches were always good.

My other go tos were:

- Try mixing a tsp of ginger into 2 tbsp of honey. The ginger will help your nausea, and the honey will help keep it down.

- Sonic ice

- lemons

- lots of water

I hope this helps! :)

ASk your doctor to put you on Zofran It is the most amazing drug ever. I took it for weeks and it really does help with morning sickness.

Maybe it's your prenatal vitamins. Ask your midwife to switch you to a different one or try taking it at night right before you go to bed.
