Micronor Birth Control Pill - West Bloomfield,MI

I took it after I had my daughter when I was breastfeeding. I didn't have any problems or symptoms when I was on it. I did switch to my normal birth control when I stopped breastfeeding because there's more of a percentage of getting pregnant while on Micronor.

Thats kind of funning because in the past 6 1/2 years those are the only 2 birth controls I have been on. I was on the Micronor when I was breastfeeding my 6 year old and my 1 year old and once done with that I take Yasmin. The only bad thing about Micronor you need to make sure you take it the same time everyday. There is a lot bigger chance of getting pregnant if you miss than on the other. But both of them I personally LOVE. No side effects with either. Hope ive helped. N.

I took Micronor for almost 2 years. I felt sick every day after taking it, and although I did take it the same time every day I also got pregnant on it. I don't believe I will take it again. Good luck!

I have the Mirena too (like the the Mom below) It is Progesterone only and I have had no issues with it and most B/C makes me super sick!!
Maybe look in to it sense it is semi-perm. and there are No pills to take everyday.
Also, it can and does in the majority of women stop your period, including cramps, bloating and mood swings :-)

I don't know much about that particular pill, it wouldn't be hard to find out, my cousin is an OBG/YN, however, after I had my daughter, I began using Mirena. I love it ... except I haven't had a real period in two years, just a day or two of spotting so miniscule that hardly requires use of a panti-liner. Good luck!

I also took both. Micronor was while I was breastfeeding my daughter (1 yr) then, 3 years later while I breastfed my son (1 yr). After I finished brestfeeding, I went on Yasmin. I didn't have side effects on either.

I am having a Merina inserted this week. It is a small birth control device that emits progesterone into the uterus. I read up on it and it seems to be the better option over pills and other progesterone methods. Once it is inserted it is good up to 5 years for birth control however can easily be removed at any time if you change your mind and want to become pregnant.

I was on the Micronor birth control for years. They started me on it while I was nursing. I loved it. But after nursing, it made me spot throught the mouth, for no apparent reason... My doctor told me that is what happens with that pill. I stayed on it for a year after my son was born and it just wasn't working for me anymore. I needed the hormones so I was switched.

My only problem was the occasional spotting between periods and on that pill I had regular periods...

I tried pretty much all of the pills and patches, and I hated all of them (made me extremely crabby). After my son was born, I opted to get an IUC (intra-uterine contraceptive)...Mirena. It's a low dose progesterone only type deal, and so far I've had no side effects! I love it! It lasts 5 years, and now I don't have to remember to take a pill everyday or switch a patch. If it is an option for you, I would definately look in to it.

You may know this already, but progestin is a synthetic progesterone. So you would still be taking hormones.

If you are looking to take as few outside hormones as possible, here is another option: natural family planning - completely free of artifical / outside hormones. My husband and I have used NFP for 9 years with 100% effectiveness. Just wanted to put that out there as another option.
