Menstral Cycle Question - Edited

So normally I am super regular like every 28 days. Last night after I got back from a jog I started again...I shouldn't start for another 15 days. Had mild cramping and its starting as a regular period....like not to get too gross but no clots are being passed. Should this be something I should schedule a doc appt for or chalk it up to an irregular period.

Edited: So I have an appointment for next Tuesday and now that the office is closed for the day, I have been passing clots.

What can I do next?

I think you should write down the specifics including how heavy the flow is and how bad the cramps are on a scale of 1-10 so you can compare. Give the doctor's office a call - you may not need to be seen and the call costs you nothing. It's a great halfway step between chalking it up to nothing vs. going in to be seen. If the doctor says to wait a week and just to call if it's really bad, fine. But at least go on record. Your doctor knows your history - there could be all kinds of reasons why this is happening, and most of them are non-urgent. And don't worry about TMI - the clotting question is actually important information.

my dr recommends tracking irregular periods for a full 3 months before making an appointment to figure things out. one irregular one could be just that. i would keep the calander handy and track the next few cycles before rushing over to the dr. if the next 2 cycles are off or odd then make that appt and talk it over with the dr.

Looks like you had some issues a couple years ago according to your questions. The older I got the worse those type of symptoms got. I would defiantly keep the apt with your dr and voice your concerns.

I was fairly regular up until my 40's.
And then very gradually over 15 years - predictability went out the window.
My peri menopause lasted a long time but toward the end I couldn't wait for it to be over.
My last period came after 9 months of nothing and I thought "Darn it! I have to start my count all over again before I have my menopause party".
If it doesn't happen often, then take note of it and mention it at your next annual exam.
If it's suddenly happening a lot - then make an appointment to talk to your doctor ahead of your usual schedule.
Lots of things can throw your hormones off.
It's probably nothing to worry about.

Not sure how old you are, but this happened to me starting in my (mid) forties. It has happened to my friends also. I would mention it next time you go in.

If you are in your late 30's or beyond this can be normal. Your body is changing for the next exiting event perimenopause. Not only will you become irregular but you may experience a heavier flow. If you are not miscarrying I would keep track of what is going on for a couple of months. If you are still having off-cycle periods I would call the gyno. Good luck!!
