I'm in need of a maternity support belt but have read different reviews about the different styles. What has been your experience with them and which ones seem to work the best and not show up a whole lot under your clothing?

Thanks!!

What can I do next?

I would agree with the other post about going and trying one out before purchasing one. I know that you were asking about styles and it has been 5 years since I had my son so I don't remember but I know that I bought it and could not wear it. I hurt worse with it. It could have been because of the kind it was but and because of the way I carried him. Just wanted to give my thoughts on it. Good Luck!

L.,

I had a lot of pain when I was pregnant with my son, and I looked in to a belt also (before I got pregnant I only weighted 114). I tried the one at Motherhood but it didn't support me enough. I went to Babies R Us and they had one that went under your belly and over also, it made me a little more sweaty but it worked wonders for me. I think it was under 30 bucks also.

Good Luck and Congrats,

L.,

I have one called the Gabriella support belt (look on the website www.thenestingplace.biz). A lot of moms tell me they really like them and we will fit one to you and let you try it out before you buy it here at The Nestingplace. I also have a support maternity girdle that is panties with a belly band.
Please feel free to call or come by and try one on.

I never wore one, but once I was as far a long as you are now, I wore maternity pants that pulled all the way up over my belly (before that I wore under the belly pants). Much more comfortable for me. So I suppose a belt that offers a lot of support for the entire belly would be my suggestion.

Good luck!

I actually preferred the belly bra...it's like a tank top with a support belt on the bottom. It didn't feel as tight as the maternity belt and it provided so much more relief. HTH!

Congratulations on your baby girls impending arrival! I am expecting my first here in 3 weeks...a boy.

OK, I bought the one at Babies R Us that is that belt looking thing that just velcros right under your belly. I HATED IT! It was very uncomfortable. I was hoping it would get him off my bladder a bit, but it was not helpful and showed under clothes, etc.

I haven't found anything that has worked...just going to tough it out for the next few weeks.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions for one that is good...just wanted to let you know about the one that didn't work for me.

Good luck!

Hi L.! You should go to Motherhood Maternity. They will open a package and put a belt on you and have you walk around for a while. I tried on clothes, sat around, and walked. It ended up not working out for me at all!! It seriously hurt after about 30 minutes. So I would seriosuly try before you buy. I think it depends on how you are carrying!

GOOD LUCK! When are you due?

Actually, what worked so great and much better for me those control / contouring underwear. I chose a larger size and it worked fine but now I see that they exist in maternity sizes. They helped so much more than any maternity belts and I tried 4 of the top popular kinds.

Good luck.

I have one that I am selling for $5. No one bought it at the garage sale. I wore it only a couple of times with my first daughter. It got extremely hot to wear it during July and August that year.
If you want it please send me a private message and I will give you my info.
