Before I moved to the Chicago area I had a wonderful massage therapist who helped me with my aches and pains from fibromyalgia and who helped me survive my first pregnancy. She was very knowledgeable about health and wellness, but not too new-agey.

I really haven't tried anyone in my area (Elmhurst) mainly because I would like a good referral and haven't found anyone through friends.

If anyone has someone they would recommend please let me know.

Thanks,

Hi M. -
I don't have any LMT suggestions for you near Elmhurst (just Naperville), but I do have a suggestion for you re your Fibromyalgia. I wasn't sure if you've tried homeopathy with your disease, but my homeopathic Dr. in Naperville, Dr. Josephine Polich, has helped people get completely back to normal with homeopathy. Here's a newsletter she wrote on Fibromyalgia (the root of the link is her website). Please feel free to email me offlist if you'd like to know more about homeopathy. The best part is that you can be treated by a homeopath and still take your other Rxs....
best wishes!

I also moved to the Elmhurst area recently and found a great massage therapist. It's called Body & Soul Spa Retreat at 381 N. York Elmhurst ###-###-#### (just north of North Ave).

The owner (I am blanking on her name right now) is very knowledgeable. She teaches kinesiology and really helped the muscle spasms in my back. I have gone to her twice and will definitely go back. I was also pleasantly surprised at the prices (cheaper than the city!). Good luck.

As for your Fibromyalgia, a friend turned me on to a product called Body Balance, a liquid whole food supplement, 8 years ago. Her sister has severe Fibromyalgia and has been taking Body Balance for a while now and has had dramatic improvement with her symptoms since taking the product. I have myself had drastic improvement in my health and within my own family that I have turned Body Balance into my stay at home business. Go to www.gopillfree.com to learn more. The website is currently being updated, but the information is current. This may be something that would help you with your symptoms. :)

Have you tried seeing a chiropractor for your fibromyalgia? I am located in Villa Park and actually live in Elmhurst. I specialize in children and women ( as well as pregnancy). I do adjustments, massage, physical therapy and acupuncture which all help tremendously for chronic pain syndromes. Let me know if you are interested or have any questions. you can also look at my website....www.breitensteinfamilychiropractic.com
