Looking for Pediatrician and Other Medical Doctors

Welcome to Des Moines! We have a lot of great pediatricians in the area. I would say two stand out for me. My personal pediatrician is Dr. Monica Hanson, she is located at Lakeview Pediatrics in West Des Moines. I also really like Dr. David Williams who is located at Methodist Plaza Pediatrics which is attached to Methodist Hospital. They are both part of the Iowa Health Systems which does participate in the after-hours clinic at Walnut Creek. That clinic is so wonderful, it's open until 8:00 during the week and open Saturdays and Sundays. The program that I work with does referrals for families that are having some issues at home. As far as your son with the anger issues, I do referrals to Child Guidance Center for families all the time. They have wonderful therapists that specifically work with children. There number is ###-###-####. You don't need a referral from your doctor to go there you can make an appointment on your own. Just make sure it is covered by your insurance. Hope this helps!

Wow, I take my two little ones to Dr. Enserro at Walnut Creek Pediatrics too! I'm very happy with her. My kids have also seen a couple other drs there as well and we liked them all. As for me I have gone to South Glen Clinic- part of Iowa Health- on SE 14th st. just south of Army Post road. Their urgent care hours rock too.

Have you considered a Family Doctor? My son and I both see Dr Hornbrook at East Des Moines family care and she's WONDERFUL and it's convenient!

I second WC Pediatrics! Our primary is Dr. Rhonda Enserro, but have seen a couple of the other doctors and they have all been great!

We like Walnut Creek Pediatrics off 8th St. in WDM. They also have an after-hours clinic at that location, which, luckily we haven't had to use yet, but it's nice to know it's available. They and other pediatric clinics are part of Iowa Health Physicians, I think. Sorry, I don't have any advice as to therapists.
