Looking for New Ideas

With the fourth baby on the way, I am running low on ideas for names! We don't know the gender yet. I have always tried to incorporate family names, and the pattern is two middle names. (As a sad coincidence, after we picked out the name for my third child, we realized that all 3 had exactly 30 letters in their name. Not something I am attempting to repeat.) Anyhow, I think Lee could go either way for a middle name, which would be the middle name of 3 uncles, and Ryan is my husband's middle name (he doesn't want his son to have the same first name because he doesn't want people calling him Junior). I have used almost all the people in my family as "inspiration" for the names. I'd like to keep it relatively normal, but have something unique about it. I love foreign names as long as they are easy to pronounce, but again, that isn't a necessity. There is nothing that is mandatory with this name, that is just some of the patterns I've had up to now and what I've been trying hard to work with. Also, my children's names are Shaylin Olivia Marie, Brandon Steven Nathaniel, and Anastacia (sounds like On-nastacia)Victoria Brianne. I'd love to hear any suggestions that anyone may have! Thanks in advance!

So What Happened?

Thank you for ll the great suggestions! In the end, weused my son's idea of Abby for her first name, and used my husband's grandmothers' middle name along with my mom's name for her middle names; Abigail (Abby) Elaine Sharon. It took awhile to get used to, but it grew on me after using it a bit.

I have a Kaylin Eleora, Samuel Jameson and Zoe Isabell. the original scottish spelling of Kaylin's name is "Caelan" (Caelyn if it's a girl) and is actually a boys name. I used the Everything Baby Name book or whatever it's called to help choose my kids' names. The younger two are named for family and the oldest...well I was young and she wasn't named for anyone other than the "ooh that sounds pretty" fairy :P ..I have a niece named Janni and I always thought that was a cute name as well.

good luck!

My boy's names are Abram (Abe) Martin, and Isaac Kevin. (the middle names are family names.) Feel free to use any of those names! Also, my name is L. Marie and I have always loved having a name that is just a little different. Martin is my maiden name. If you have a usable maiden it could be used as a middle or even first name.

When my husband and I were choosing baby names we bought the biggest paperback baby name book available! We also searched on-line. We tried to stick with Old English and Irish/Gaelic first names and paired them with part of our fathers and other family member's names. We chose Brandon Philip, Logan Robert and Aiden Jacob. Jacob's not a family name, but we liked it. We didn't want "Jake" to be used though. There are lots of great names out there though.

It's also possible to modify a family members name, such as

Christian Ryson Lee
Leah Rynetta Jenese
Jenetta Reanne Leigh

Ryan can become Ryson, Ryen, Reanne, Rhiannon, Ryder, Ryleigh, Ryner, Rydon....

Lee can become Leigh, Leah, Leeland, Leander, Leighla, Leon, Leo, Leighton....

Or you could do what our cousins did and let their kids name the baby. See what each of their favorite names are and see how you can twist them to fit!

Good Luck and Have a great pregnancy!

Well, for boys what about: Christian (goes with Shay-LIN, Bran - DON), Jonathan, Rowan, Martin, Roman, Coleman, Jameson, Duncan, Hudson, Preston, or Hayden? And other ones maybe: Pierce, Ryder, Nash, Mercer, or Carter (my son's name)?

Girls: Rowan, Ella, Dylan, Teagan, Addyson, Layla, McKenna, Bryleigh, Annamaria, Gabriella, Marciella.

Like any of those?
