Looking for Information on Pediatric Alliance in Pleasant Hills, PA

I use Pediatric Alliance in the South Hills. Most of the doctors go back and forth. I've been with them for 7 years. My daughter was born 3 months premature and my son has ADHD as well as mild Tourette's. They have done so much for my children helping me get thetherapy they needed and now to look at them...it's just amazing. My daughter received a round of vaccinations at 2 months and it was just too much for her tiny body and she became very lethargic. I was told to take her to Children's and there it was discovered she wasn't getting enough formula and dehydrated. After this the shots terrified me. I expressed my concerns and the situation to the nurse at our next visit. She sat down with me and worked out a plan for her to still get her shots on time, but broken up. I ended up visiting the doctors more often, but just for the catch up shots and it was no problem. So I would suggest ... call them...talk to them...and explain your situation...I think you will find them very accomodating. Please feel free to message me if you would like anymore info.

Yes, I do send my children to Pediatric Alliance in Pleasant Hills, PA. I absolutely love them! We've been patients there for five years. I find that all of the doctors are extremely qualified and professional. And they are affiliated with the best Pittsburgh hospitals as well. I had an incident with my oldest son when he was a year old. He caught a bad virus, and I reluctantly took him to our local hospital. Thanks to the concern of the Pediatric Alliance team, they insisted I drive to Mercy hospital immediately. It turns out he was misdiagnosed by my local hospital with severe dehydration. Looking back, I was so glad that the Pediatric Alliance staff recognized the misdiagnosis from my local hospital immediately and (without even seeing him). Mercy Hospital told me that if I had waited any longer it could have caused organ damage. Since then, I am a huge supporter of Pediatric Alliance and have referred all of my friends to them. I drive approximately 50 minutes one way to their office, but I wouldn't trust my children's healthcare with anyone else.

Why would you want to wait on giving your kids their immunizations, or not do them as the pediatrician suggests? I don't understand this. They set up the immunization schedule as they see fit for the children they are seeing. There are specific reasons for each of those immunizations and why they do them together. I'm sure they see a ton of children and I can't imagine many people give them a hard time about it. Maybe your current pediatrician is confused like I am about why you would want to not give your children what is healthiest for them.

hi my name is J. Jericho i had my son there for alittle while and didn't like it so i switched. They kept giving him amoxicillin and they knew it didn't work for him.they also thought i was worried over nothing all the time but my almost everytime i took him he had and ear infection. Yes they do push shots. Now on the other hand my sister had no problem there while she was in PA so i've heard both good and bad things. Its your decision. Any more questions feel free to ask.

I don't take my children there. I take mine to CCP-Allegheny and love the doctors there. Other members of my family also use different office of CCP. So far I haven't met anyone who has had a problem with CCP.

One of my best friends takes her children to Pediatric Alliance in Greenfield. I've been there with her daughter on occasion. In both her opinion and mine, they have been wonderful. I don't know if it is the same doctors but if so, I highly recommend them.

If you are unsure, though, ask to come in and meet the staff before switching your daughters. Ask them about the routine they follow when you bring your child in and see if you can meet one or more of the doctors before switching to make sure you are comfortable with them. If you can't come in and meet with a doctor, ask to have one of them call you so you can ask him a few questions. Then you can explain what you are going through with your current practitioner, ask some questions and find out the new doctor's opinions and concerns on your problem. I'd hate to have you switch just to find yourself with another doctor who doesn't want to listen to you and your concerns.

I do not know about Pediatric Alliance but i do second what Nora said about Pediatric South. My children go to the Robinson office and I absolutely love Dr. Tyson and his partners. We ended up switching to them when my son was born becuase the ped we had at the time stopped taking our insurrance. Pediatric South is one of the best offices around here. They are pateint and really listen to your concerns. My daughter has asthma and my son has food allergies and we end up seeing them alot each year.

I can understand wanting to switch doctors. I hated my doctors for my son when he was little. I switched his doctors after he had his shots.
As for holding off on shots that's a personal choice. I have an autistic son who's almost 4.
I had doctors look at me like I am NUTS cause I felt there was something wrong with my child and I got that I was over reacting.
I see Pediatric South in Mt Lebanon, Dr Scott Tyson, and I LOVE him. He is an advocate for childhood autism and has helped me pave the way for me getting help for my son.
BTW
He's up to date on shots but I don't give him the flu shot or I didn't electe the Hep B vac that they have out now.
I am weary of shots even though they "claim" they are safe.

Hi my name is D. and I take my 3 kids to Pediatric Alliance. We have been going there for 5 years and I recommend them to everybody. They are great and they have great hours. the doctors and nurses are great with the kids and they help whatever they can. My son was 2 months premature so I was calling then a couple times a week to make sure everything was ok. They helped alot. The doctors there are wonderful. All my kids have had there shots so I really dont know how they are about not immunizing but they only get a couple of shots at a time and like I said I highly recommend them. You makd a good decision going to their office. They listen to what the parents and the child have to say. I hope I helped you with your decision.
