my daughter is turning three next week and i am looking for a class in the area for her to do without mom by her side. we have done kindermusik and i liked it but i had to stay with her the whole time. i was thinking about a kids gym but she would have to be 3 1/2 and they seen pricey anyway.
i am open to anything so long as it is worth the money and i do not have to be right next to her, it would be hard with my three month old.

What can I do next?

I have taken my son since 2 years 10 months (now 3+ years) to what's called Mom's Morning Out at a Baptist church. We don't currently attend church but was referred there by my next door neighbor. It's from 9-12:30 PM. He gets to socialize with other kids, do the playground, sing songs or read books, and do one, sometimes two art projects. So if you could find anything like that near by, I strongly suggest it. He goes twice a week, $12 each time.

Hi M.!
Check out www.321goplay.com. They are a preschool located in Altamonte across from the mall. Similar to Montessori schools- no classrooms, just open imagination play centers. They have unbelievable teachers and a learn-though play environment. They also have a drop-in program for $9 an hour. My boys LOVE going to school there! This would be a great place to give your daughter a fun taste of preschool without having to pay for her to go all the time. Then when you're ready for her to transition, she'll already be registered. Good Luck!

You can try Starz Studio located in Casselberry. It is a dance class and very well organized and no more than $50/mo.

You can try dance classes. My daughter started when she was 2 1/2 and loved it. For that age they ususally do some ballet and some gymnastic type of activities in a very fun and age appropriate way. Most places will also let you do a class for free to see if it is something that your daughter would actually be interested in. A lot of places also have TVs in the waiting area so you can sit there and watch the class but not have to be inside the room. Most dance schools put on an end of the school year recital so if you sign up they would want you to put down a costume deposit. Keep in mind though, that if you are concerned about making that commitment, you can opt not to participate in the recital and just let her enjoy the classes. Hope this helps.

I'm almost positive that the Seminole County library system's Preschool storytime for ages 3-5 allow you to leave your child in the story room and walk out. It's only about 20-30 minutes, but it's free and fun and will give you both a small break from eachother
