Looking for Chocolate Bark (?) to Decorate a Cake

To all the wonderful bakers out there!
I saw a cake online that I'd like to replicate for a bridal shower. Around the outside of a double layer cake is what looks like very thin, vertical but uneven strips of chocolate. Someone mentioned the name "chocolate bark" because it resembles tree bark. Does anyone know of a bakery or fudge shop that might sell this or can make it for me? I live in Olathe.
Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Look up Bakers Rack, I think it is in Shawnee. That's where my M.I.L. gets all her supplies for her cakes.

You could probably make the "bark" yourself by melting any chocolate baking bar, even chocolate chips, and spreading it out in thin layers on top of parchment or waxed paper. It will harden and then you could peel it off. Good luck!

You can find it in the baking aisle at the grocery store...along with the cake mixes, frosting, etc. :)

Hi Amy,
I am by no means a baker and I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, but you could use chocolate shavings (small pieces bunched together) to emulate bark. Hope this helps... you should try experimenting with a thick bar of "baker's chocolate" from the grocery store and put a good sharp peeler to work. Good luck,
K.

You can buy it at the grocery store, It is the kind you melt at Christmas Time and dip pretzels in. You melt it then it will harden up.

Good Luck,
T.
