Looking for Anti-Perspirant Recommendations

I used an anti-perspirant for over a decade that I was getting from Crabtree & Evelyn. Apparently while I was burning through my last bulk purchase of the product, they stopped making it. I don't know how long ago, but long enough that I can find it on eBay or anyplace else. Help! I've never been a fan of drugstore anti-perspirant. I want something natural, but didn't like Tom's. Any suggestions, mamas??

Everyone has a different body chemical. So find the one that works for you is going to be a trail run for you. I use DEGREE. I have been using DEGREE for a long time. I have a reaction with metal. Especailly with the back of the buttom of jeans. I use DEGREE there on my belly where the butttom is and it protects my body. It also keeps my under arms dry. Does not clots or smear on clothes. I highly recommend this product.

Hi T.,

I love the deodorant from Shaklee. They have a cream(which I've never tried) and a roll on. The roll on goes on wet and I wasn't used to that at first, but it dries very quickly. It works better than anything I've ever tried. It lasts long too. I don't get those yellow stains on my clothes and it's completely safe; no toxins in it. You can find it at www.greennutrition.info. You can register to win $200 of free products and learn about Shaklee at www.freegreenproducts.info. Try it! It's 100% guaranteed.

I use a deodorant that is called Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal. I use the roll on, they also have a spray. I used to get it at Walmart, since they have stopped carrying it. I found it at Rite Aid. I think it works very well and doesn't have any of the ingredients that anti-perspirants have. It's a natural product. I didn't like Tom's either; Tom's actually gave me a terrible rash. Anyway, hope this is helpful!

If you don't perspire profusely, you may not need an anti-perspirant. Many of them have aluminum or other not healthy for the body ingredients. I use a crystal deodorant stick, which has the following advantages:
- effective odor control
- doesn't stain clothing
- inexpensive -- $5 or $6 for a stick that lasts "forever"
- solid crystal isn't an issue for traveling
Check your local natural foods grocery store.

I'm a big fan of Tom's deodorant but I found that unless I'm using a deodorant soap none of the natural ones are that effective. I use Tom's deodorant soap. I buy all my products at a very discounted rate at:

www.vitacost.com

I used to buy all my vitamins and skincare from Wholefoods not I buy from Vitacost and am very happy. Also, they charge a flat shipping rate, no matter how much you purchase.

Good luck on finding that product that works for you.

This might sound strange, but one of my girlfriends using Vodka and she said the higher the proof the more bacteria it kills, so I found Everclear at Bev Mo. I put it in a small spray bottle and use that. She uses a roll-on bottle that was previous filled with vitamin E. It's cheap and it works...without all of the chemicals.

I have been using Crystal for years. I use the liquid roll-on. No Aluminum and all that fancy stuff. It doesn't stain clothes one bit. In fact it works better if some of it gets on your clothes, stays on longer. I find it in SOME grocery stores but I also find it in health food stores. It's a clear and purple packaging.

My husband and I use an unscented lotion by Hugo Naturals and then dust with baking soda. The baking soda absorbs moisture and helps with odor control.

I recently started using Trader Joe's brand and like it. Good luck with your search... I know it's such a pain when a beloved product is discontinued!

Hello T.. I am wondering if you have tried (and liked) the crystal one. I used it a few years back (sorry I can't remember the name of it) and I was happy with the results. It comes in a little "tube" and you wet the crystal, then apply it to your underarms. Other than that, I'm not sure what to tell you, I have to use the clinical strength ones now, and those don't come in the crystal form! lol
p.s. - I've always hated Tom's - it never felt like it was working.

Let's hear it for the crystals! My family, daughter, husband and I are all using the crystals. They are safe and they work...yes even on my husband!

Not all "healhty products" are healthy. Sodium Laurel(th) Sulfates are rampant in our skin care and cosmetic industry. STAY AWAY. Aluminum...use it for cooking not for putting on your skin.

T., I have searched for safe products for my family. It is my business to know what is safe for families. The crystals are natural and easy to use and they are effective. One tip...the $3 ones are not as smooth as the $10 ones. They both last forever so it is up to you how smooth you want on your underarms.

Thank you for taking care of your health!

Weleda makes a great pump spray antipersperant. It's very effective and lasts a while. I say that because the price tag is a bit high. I prefer the lemon/citrus, but there are other scents.good luck!
