Just looking for a couple of hours a week. Thank you

So What Happened?

Thank you.
I live in Genesee County between Flint and Saginaw.
Not many people are involved in the SKIP where we live:(
He is almost potty trained, turned 3 in December.
They have a program for 15 weeks that is 130 for 2 hours 2x a week, but he has to be potty trained and a signed physical ( I just found this out) and cannot get into the doctor before it starts.

I dont know any programs in your area.. But in my area - several school districts have mom and tot programs... We go to one program that meets 2 days a week for 1 hour. It is for kids age 0-3 to socialize them and expose them to the school enviroment.

So I would calll a couple of the school districts to see what programs they have.. Also look up the parks and recreation department.. See what programs they have. Have you been to your local library for story time?? if you find your local library doesnt have a good story time.. Check out another library.. Some libraries do a super job with story time others are lousy..

K.,

Are you looking for a preschool program or something less formal, like Gymboree of Kindermusik? If it's the former, I highly recomment Little Lambs at Christ Church Cranbrook. Check it out or feel free to email me back. www.littlelambsccc.org.

Where are you? There is a program in Southfield called Bussey Center, it's a headstart and is free, and they have openings right now. You have to be a Southfield resident though. The teachers there all have teaching degrees and are fantastic, the kids go for 3 hours a day four days a week. I know that sounds like more than you wanted but if you live in Southfield just check it out. My three year old started in September and loves it, he has blossomed since being there (socially and educationally). It's located on Twelve Mile between Evergreen and Southfield (almost opposite Souhfield Lathrup High School) and you can just drop in for more details or call them on ###-###-####. They are such a fnatstic group of staff and the best facility I have seen for pre schoolers. Anyone who lives in Southfield should check it out.

I know you had a couple of people offer there service. Yet I would like to extend mine also. I am a mom of an almost 3 year old (in march) and he could use some companionship also, plus I was wanting to find more productive ways to earn money and stay home with my child.

I am a certified (mi) elementary teacher.
I've did substitute teaching for the past 5 years and more predominately in Clio schools in the past 3 years.
Previous daycare/preschool experience.

but if your looking for a bigger setting, I suppose I would not be it. However, I thought I would just throw it out there.

Does your school system offer the SKIP program? I hear that is a great program for kids under 5. It's free and there are no requirements for you to meet. Call your local school and ask about it. In Fenton, where I am, it's funded by the United Way. You could contact them for schools near you that offer it.
