Hi this will be the 1st year my school attends public school. He has always gone to a private school. But he has needs that they can not meet. I love the school and hope in the future he'll be able to go back. Does anyone know about Hunters Creek Elementary?? He will be in Kindergarten.

What can I do next?

Aisha, Hey This is Isabelle's mom D.! I am putting Isabelle in Cedarbrook Elem this next year. I have heard nothing but good things about Hunter's Creek (like a private school ) I felt that St. Marks has been a good school for Isabelle but sort of concerned about size of class and if you don't like the teacher that is all you have to work with . I think that you will be happy with Hunter's Creek it is one of the best schools in SBISD. Good Luck!

I looked in greatschool.net. Lot of reviews are very postive about that school.. It's 10 out of 10 which is one of the best school. I agreed other mothers to make an appointment and feedbacks with that school and see how you feel about it. They are more focus on Reading English Langauage Art, Math, Science, and Writing. Good luck!!

I have 3 kids in SBISD schools, Hunters Creek is thought of as a really good school and is attached to either one of two better middle schools and the best high school in the district. Great place to be! You didn't mention what needs he had that the private schools couldn't meet. Definitely contact the school in advance to make sure those needs are taken care of to your satisfaction and then keep in consistant communication with his teachers and you should be set!

HCE is a great school with great teachers. You can call the office and set up an appointment with the principal, counselor, and kinder teachers. At that time you can share your concerns and decide for yourself if HCE will be a good fit for you and your son.

We are actually in the same boat my daughter will also be attending KG this fall not the same school however. She too has gone to private school but learned about the dual language program that SBISD has to offer and it is great. I am a graduate of Spring Branch schools and I believe they are some of the best, now I know that my opinion may be biased, but I would like to teach in SB once I become a teacher :-)

Hunters Creek is an incredible elementary school in SBISD. Their test scores are always top notch, as are their faculty and staff. Talk with the Assistant Principal -- Mrs. Karen Yates. She's a former student of mine and just a very loving, caring professional. She'll make you feel really good about the education and care he will get at Hunters Creek. I have just recently retired from teaching (36 years), and I have a granddaughter who will be attending public schools one day. I'd love for her to be able to go to Hunters Creek! :) C.
