I have really enjoyed the "Toughpoints" book by T. Berry Brazelton, MD. He gives great advice about health, safety, potty training, discipline and other issues.

You should also visit www.parentingtools.org. There you will find a LOT of useful parenting information written by Dr. Brad Schwall, a local counselor here in Dallas. He also has an e-zine you can subscribe to.

Good Luck

There are several books by John Rosemond that are really good. One that I read was "Making the Terrible Twos Terrific!" and the Six Point Plan for Raising Happy Healthy Children.

M.,

I'm simply in love with a book I received as a gift when I had out daughter. I don't recall the author off of the top of my head, but it's called, "You Are Your Child's First Teacher." It's a very good parenting guide that explains why your children are doing the things that they do. Hope this helps.

Good luck,

K.

Two great parenting books: Love and Logic, and Practical Parenting. You can find on web, or at library. Plano has a parenting resource library, but do not know where. I have tried all the others, but these make the most sense. They have different versions for children with learning disabilities, adopted children, etc.

I have been reading Happiest Toddler on the Block too and am really enjoying it...it's quite enlightening to the stages of behavior that our toddlers progress through!

What to Expect the Toddler Years and Bringing Up Boys are good ones. Consider The Strong Willed Child for problem behavior.
