Hi everyone:

My OBGYN (whom I loved) has moved out of my area and i would appreciate any referrals...so, if you know of anyone good, or have heard of anyone, please let me know. No preferrences really, my previous one was a male, so i'm not that particular. Thanks in advance for your responces.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Sorry it just took so long for me to respond back. But i do want to thank everybody who gave me a referral. It was all very helpful and I was able to narrow my search. I did end up picking an OBGYN from all the referrals that came in. I found out I was 9 weeks (i thought i was 13 weeks) pregnant at the time of my initial appointment. Things have been going smoothly and I have been eating like a horse. I did not eat this much or this early with my other two pregancies. We are really hoping for a boy, but as long as it is healthy we will be extremely happy :) Thanks again to everybody...

I agree with Shelley with Dr. Amy Huibonhoa in Berkeley. She delivers patients at Alta Bates Hospital. I worked for her from 2000-2001. She is a very good OB/GYN provider as well as ther NP Tahira Henderson. A very thorough one I may add. Her patients loved her to death.

There is also another group I worked for in Berkeley called OB/Gyn & Fertility Specialists Group who are now under Sutter you can see. The MD's I prefer is Dr. Eleanore Kim, Dr. Elizabeth Kanwit, and Dr. Katarina Lanner-Cusin.

Good Luck Hunting!

I highly recommend Dr. Amy Huibonhoa (pronounced wee-bon-wa). Her office is in Berkeley, across the street from Alta Bates (a big plus if that's where you are delivering!). She's been with me though both of my pregnancies/deliveries and I feel very lucky to have found her.

If you're part of Kaiser, I would highly recommend any of the OBGYNs at the Kaiser Richmond. I've seen 3 different women and they've all been fabulous. Specifically Dr. Hartshorn is fantastic!

I go to Mary Davenport in El Sobrante. She is a great doctor, very knowledgeable. She is Catholic, so she is prolife. She helped me deal with my infertility using more natural methods & I now have a 9 month old girl! My only complaint is that she is usually running behind, so don't worry about trying to be early to your appointment.

Dr. Craig is wonderful, as is Dr. Delgado. They share an office. Dr. Craig is my OBGYN but Dr. Delgado delivered me and she is very professional and warm.

I have to agree with Angela. I also have Dr. Thomas Lee Hambrick. I don't know what I would have done without him. I had complications and he was on the ball. He had 20+ years experience, great bedside manner, and just a wonderful person!
I would recommend him a million times over! Good Luck!

I don't know how local you need it to be, but I love my OB/GYN in Lafayette. His name is Dr. Kurt Wharton. He is very friendly and will meet with me in his office to chat before we begin so I'm not chatting in nothing but a paper gown and socks. He is thorough, non-judgmental and very experienced. I have a history with OB/GYNs who have caused me a great deal of pain physically and emotionally and when I came to him and told him my story, he was very compassionate and understanding. I could go on and on... His number is ###-###-####. Hope whomever you find works out for you!

I go to Richard Rudd of East Bay Fertility Med Group (formerly East Bay Obstetrics/Gynecology Med Group) - they have a Berkeley and a Pinole office. I've found him to be very knowledgeable and still respectful of the patient's decisions (my twins were presenting vertex and breech and he explained the various risks and benefits of vaginal vs. C section delivery but ultimately left it up to me to decide which route to try. Both my girls were delivered vaginally and he had no problems delivering the second twin by breech extraction. My husband's coworker goes to another doctor in that practice (a lady whose name I can't recall) and she's been very happy with her.
