We will be moving into our new house next weekend. Next week I will be cleaning before we movein and the oven needs the most attention. Any ideas on how to clean the oven so it sparkles ;-) ? It is not a self cleaning one. It is also black. Any ideas would be appreciated. THX in advance. L.

What can I do next?

I would hire a company to come in and do a move-in clean that would include the appliances. I know it sounds like a cop-out - it's not. You have a lot on your plate and if the house is empty? It should NOT cost much to do. But will save you a LOT of time...

I believe this is the company that my nephew and his wife used

and this is who my sister used when a friend of hers died and it was a huge mess....

If you don't want to do that? I would use Easy-Off - spray it on really well, leave it for an hour and move on to something else.

Good luck!!

I've used Easy Off inside an oven before - it works just fine.

Easy off should work just fine. Just make sure you do it about 3 days or more before your move out date. I always find little white traces of smeared easy off.
Also, use old rags because they will be covered in oven grime.

I moved into a rental home that looked like the oven hadn't been touched in years. I used a magic eraser on it, and it worked really well (and easy-didn't have to use much elbow grease.) and made it look brand new. :)

There is a product called Purple Power. You can buy it at an automotive supply store. It is the strongest cleaner I have ever bought, and it made my oven, which is self-cleaning and still a total grime fest, sparkle inside and out. It will even clean the glass door.

It will, however, require adequate ventilation and gloves when you use it.

Happy Cleaning!
