Not sure what brought this to mind tonight. Here goes-I love to shop for "treasures" at the resale shop (this one in particular uses red crayon go price items). Last year I found the cutest little locker that looked brand new from a pricey mall shop at the resale shop and quickly put it in the closet for Easter. Well, the Easter bunny may or may not have had some wine when putting baskets together and may have forgotten to clean off the tell tale crayon. So, Easter morning I overheard a certain child exclaim "The Easter Bunny shops at [insert resale shop here]!?!?! when the kids went outside to play with their bubbles and skip-bos (purchased at Target-I swear!!). I descretely wiped the crayon off.
So, bring it on ladies and gentelmen! Lord knows we all have our moments!!

So What Happened?

Thanks for sharing. It's nice to see that I'm not the only imperfect parent.
We just had a high efficiency furnace and water heater installed and a roof put on. The contractor was explaining that he would be removing the chimney as there is no longer a need for it. My 6 year old yelled " BUT HOW WILL SANTA GET IN???" we both looked at each other-but we still have a fireplace so it was an easy explanation.
I never had the nerve to call my parents out like my kids do. We even caught my dad wrapping presents one Christmas Eve and still ran back to bed before Santa came as instructed!!

Several years ago, my son asked Santa for one of those crayola coloring/activity tables for Christmas. We put everything out in true Santa fashion for Christmas morning, and somehow managed to completely forget to put out the table. After everything was discovered and opened on Christmas morning, he asked why Santa didn't remember his coloring table. My husband discreetly went outside, and laid it on it's side in the front yard. My son went outside later, and found our staged scene. He was so excited. He said- "It must have fallen off his sleigh!". Yeah.. exactly. (We are geniuses.)

Our Easter Bunny has shown that he shops at Target and accidently left the receipt on the floor before leaving. Apparently he likes Diet Coke and had some other snack that the kids could not figure out the abbreviation for.
Nice to know the Easter Bunny shops at the same places we do ;)

As far as the wrapping paper, one Christmas my oldest commented... "I know there's a Santa Claus.... we don't have this kind of paper" ... so.... I went out and bought as much of that particular paper that I could after Christmas, so I could use it for several years! And... I made sure to NOT use it for general Christmas presents. I also hid it thoroughly, in a black plastic trash bag so she wouldn't see it.

It is amazing how observing kids can be when you least expect it!

I once forgot when the first day of school was, and didn't send them until the second day. I have also taken them to school on a day they had off. I swear each instance happened only one time, but they will never let me forget.

Apparently, the Easter Bunny has the same handwriting as mommy (even though she tried to hide it with block letters, instead of her usual script), according to our then 6yr old son. And Santa uses the same wrapping paper as mommy, too! I swear, I don't remember noticing details like this when I was a kid.

Sometimes, Santa leaves "his" extra wrapping paper in the master closet.
For no apparent reason...except.....well..
