Almost finish unpacking, I let my husband clothes (besides his suits) to the least, so here I am putting things on place and AGAIN, I found some stuff that I really don't get why he can let go (or let me do it)
Is not like his old Collage shirt, or his father jacket, I get those and I agree.
But, there is for example:
2 shirts my mom give to him as a present, he doesn't like them, I get it, but he doesn't let me give them away, he has never wear them, never will, my mother already figure it, since in like 6 years he never use them (which it kind of piss me off, but that is a whole different story) BUT he don't let me give them away! So here they are, after 6 years and not even once wear.
There is also a spider men shirt, he has also never wear it, for what he says is about 15 year old! the withe on it is yellow know, is not even a good one, the draw is kind of bad, I even ask if this was an ex memories, he swears he just like it, but he never would wear it, so here it is, on the bottom (if he likes it so much how come it is always at the bottom?)
And last, my most hated one!
An almost fall apart shirt, wholes everywhere, is not a good brand, no memories at all, you can still buy a new one, same one.
Is not like if he doesn't have other clothes (obviously he has at least 3 that he has never even use!) AND he dares to sometimes wear the dame thing out side home!!!
Not that he wants to, but he sleep on it and sometimes just go out to run errands with it but I HATE THAT.
he would not let me through it away.
Grrrrrrrrr
Does your husband has a piece of clothes that you would want to get it lost?

What can I do next?

I am a husband, so here would be my acceptable limit.

Anything acquired while you and he are together (MIL gifts) - ditch. You don't need his permission. You dress him and are his de facto fashion designer.

Anything that pre dates you - leave alone.

A tshirt is not just about Ex's, the way some women keep tshirts from their exes. One of my favorite hole-y shirts reminds me of college. One is from my grandpa. One is from a very rough patch in my life.

He's loyal to those shirts and have kept them around. I'd think that kind of loyalty would be something women would admire. A man that knows what he likes, AND doesn't trade it in on a younger model?

Let him keep the old stuff. :)

With my ex I used to box up and date all the clothes he had that he never wore, if after a year he still didn't ask about them I gave them away.

I am having similar issues with the new husband but I am letting him work them out on his own at the moment. Not sure how long it will last. Like he has two bags of white socks that he found when we were cleaning out his old house. They are in our closet taking up room, they are also sitting next to a 12 pack of socks he bought after finding these socks. Those socks need to find a purpose other than collecting dust in our closet or they need to go!

My husband has a t-shirt that says "Sorry I forgot you were stupid." I HATE that shirt. His sister gave it to him and a kind of joke about his sarcasm.

Also he has sweaters from his Mom every Christmas. Ugly sweaters. He never wears sweaters. The guys wears shorts every day of the year, she knows this, and still she buys him sweaters. I don't get it.

Almost everything my husband owns. He goes to work everyday in uniform, so dressing himself isn't something he thinks too much about. Consequently the rest of his wardrobe falls into two categories: sportswear like jerseys and wind pants or dress clothes like slacks and button downs that are ten years old. I buy other stuff because I have to be seen with him, but I don't know what he does with it.

The other day he went into work on the weekend so he didn't have to wear his uniform. He went in his old dress clothes and all in black. Black slacks, black button down, black belt, black socks, black shoes. Everytime he walked into a room we started singing "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash.

I usually wait until he's gone for the day and start throwing things away. Half the time he never knows there gone, but if he does I given him the innocent face and pretend like I have no idea where it could be.

His favorite band is Korn(metal).

He has seen them everytime they have come through Washington State since he was about fourteen. Everytime he goes to see them his mom gives him money for a shirt(still). So we have a shirt for every concert he has gone too.....And they have come through more then once some years.....I think the most was three times....So that was a banner shirt year for him!

There are some I wish he would just retire...but he doesnt. And then there are others I wish he would wear more cause they are newer and actually look cool because of the art work.......sigh.

If I could toss them I would...but he would notice in a flash.

Sure! LOL
The thing I hate most is his old work pocket tees, that he tosses into the rag bin "because they make GREAT rags"! Yet he never uses them so I take them out & put in the garbage.
Since I do 90% of the laundry, when I see a T-shirt, pair of underwear, sock, etc. that is shabby or has a hole--I PITCH it. I know this stuff has no sentimental meaning or anything but if I wash, dry & fold it, he will grab it again.
Once in a great while he'll say "Hon....have you seen that blue Nike t-shirt.........?" Usually I tell him the truth....sometimes I just say "hmmmmm....that shabby blue O.?......." LOL
With very few exceptions (jackets, dress clothes) he really doesn't care.

My husband has an Eddie Bauer shirt that was a really nice sweatshirt at one time............like 1988 or 1989! Seriously! I bought 2 of them, a yellow on & a white one, when stretchies were in the first time & the big sweatshirts, well he was quite buff back then & it fit him pretty well so over the years he cut off the sleeves, the neck & turned it into a work-out shirt. Not so bad when he was working out in it & not wearing it around the house! The bottom fringe hangs off & it looks awful, but it is his most comfortable shirt and I wouldn't dare even mess w/it (he's warned me already that if i make it disappear like i have other things, i may also!!! He was sharp shooter in the army & ranked first in the police academy so i'm not messing around!!!! JK LOL) so I just deal w/it. It's almost like some of the things i had a hard time parting with, but have managed too!!! Okay, almost :p

All of my husband's t-shirts. I joke that I will report him to What Not to Wear! He's the president of a successful small company, yet when he comes home, he puts on horrible tie-dyed Grateful Dead shirts one size too big. I worry all the time we'll run into one of his clients when we're out. He dresses nice for work but is just sloppy outside of work.

My hubby has a collection of pocket t shirts with holes in them. "They make great rags" he claims. Yes they do but seriously aren't the 50 t shirts with holes in them that we have already enough? Can't just 1 t shirt make it into the garbage?

My husband plays softball and loves it. He gets shirts from almost every tournament he plays. They are nice at first, but he out wears them and they get worn, holes, etc. He still wears them! Some he doesn't, but won't get rid of. I figure it's memories from the season so I leave them alone, but I may start tossing them one by one.

He gets on me for old clothes and I clean my stuff out. Not sure he's done his since we moved in - I mean REALLY done it. He gave my brothers a few shirts, but no where near what he needs to get rid of!

And this man has more polo shirts than should be allowed by one person!

Yep - for me, it's all those shirts with holes all over.

He has learned that when he's out with me - we're going to dinner or a wedding or party or something, that PLEASE sure, go ahead and wear a t-shirt if you have to, but it MUST NOT have holes or stains.

When he runs to Home Depot or the grocery store without me, I have learned to care less what he wears.

Strangely enough, my husband also has some shirts his mom got him that he has never worn once. Perhaps it's because he has this idea that he should wear a shirt until it's completely worn out (ie, the holes) before moving on to the next shirt. Or maybe he's holding on to those shirts from his mom b/c she has never seen him wear them. Either way, I am glad they're in the closet, so when the hole-filled shirts finally tear to where it's unwearable, then he'll have a new shirt ready to wear!

Good luck with your situation. If I were you, I'd take the Mom-shirts out, put them in your drawer for 6 months. If he doesn't ever mention them, then he doesn't need them. Goodwill. And the hole-filled shirts - there needs to be some sort of laundry "accident" where one hole gets stuck in the agitator or a bra strap gets wrapped around it or something ..... and a HUGE hole gets torn down the middle. "Ooops! Sorry honey." :)

ALL his work uniform shirts. They are THREE SIZES too BIG for him! Not only do they look bad but I find them dangerous. Even his co-workers and 'work wife' have told him to get new ones. I'm worried his shirt is going to get caught on a machine at work they are THAT big.

I may just start taking a razor blade to them and slice them enough that he can't wear them. All he needs to do is trade them in and they remove the patch and sew it on the new one. So frustrating!

I am a purger - constantly getting rid of things, 3 months into dating my fiance I "cleaned out" his dirty ragged man closet. I separated into keeps and get gones. When he got home I showed him the piles, told him to save whatever he needed to and the rest was out. Then I went to the store and replaced/updated his wardrobe - I have had control over that since. He has learned and developed well over the years and can shop for himself again with his refined and updated eye. I know what stays and I know what can go and when I feel like it it goes.

It may be that Spiderman is a nod to his youth and he feels he can't wear it now, but it just reminds him of being younger.

My DH has a couple of ill-fitting cotton shorts that I wish would vanish. Modern men's shorts are cut with a lot of crotch and they don't look good on him.

For the tournament shirts - what about taking the logos and sewing them into a blanket or framing really important ones?

My husband has this ancient sweatshirt that he likes to change into at night - it's become his pajama shirt the past several years and it is literally falling apart. I swear it is from 1986 or something. It has holes all over the place - especially the arms. So bad in fact, it's probably going to turn into a short-sleeved sweatshirt at some point because the holes are just going to get even bigger and cause the sleeves to fall off. At least he only wears it in the house at night when there's nobody else around. He had some other God-awful articles of clothing he used to wear way back when, before we were married but still living together - "wife beaters", t-shirts with the sleeves cut-off and cropped at the bottom, mesh t-shirts, etc. Things from his teenage years that nobody had any business wearing out in public any longer, but somehow he didn't see anything wrong with them (and he was in his early 30's!). And no amount of talking on my part would change his mind. They eventually all "mysteriously disappeared" and he never missed them. But the pajama sweatshirt remains. I've joked with him that if something ever happens to him, the first thing I am doing is getting rid of it - he told me no way, he's being buried in it, because at least then he'll be comfortable.
