Is the Toshiba Satellite L755-S5366 a Good Computer?

My old laptop has quite a few issues! I saw this Toshiba Satellite L755-S5366 on sale on Black Friday. I bought it, not really knowing what I was getting, but it looked like a good deal!!! I still haven't opened it because I hate making B. purchases like this, afraid that I won't like it, it won't be a good product, etc. I have another week to return it if I want. So help me, computer savvy Mamas, please! Is this a good computer? Should I open it? Will I love it for messing around online and editing pics of my kids? Or should I go running back to the store with it? Thanks!

What can I do next?

My dad had a Toshiba laptop a few years ago. I had the misfortune of having to use it. It was unequivocally the WORST computer I have ever used. Then, I had a Toshiba laptop as part of my work a few years later. It, too, was terrible. Granted, these experiences were a few years ago, and Toshiba may have improved. But, I would NOT recommend Toshiba if you have any other choice.

We have a Toshiba Satellite, different model #, but it's a great computer! It's actually on consumer reports list for longest lasting laptops. We've had ours for 2 years or so and we love it still.

My husband's aunt is a computer "guru". She has handed down her old Toshiba Satellite to my daughter a year and a half ago... It was old tech by then (several years old already), but still works. She went ahead and bought both our kids Toshiba Satellites this summer for combined birthday and Xmas gifts (they have summer birthdays). They use them for cyber school and we haven't had any issues with either of them. I doubt it is the same model you have... but the brand is good.

My hubs is in IT and we just bought a new computer last week, too. A Toshiba Satellite Pro L755-S5306

We looked at LOTS of different ones. Our requirements were:

At least:
An Intel i3 processor (i5 and up are better) No AMD processor.
4 GH memory
500 G hard drive (320 would work too if you have external hard drive)
and an HDMI port.
I also wanted the 10-key option on the keyboard...got it.

I paid $379 before tax.

I FREAKIN' LOVE THIS THING!

I did the same exact thing about 5 or 6 years ago! I bought a Toshiba laptop (diff model) on a Black Friday super deal, I still have the computer, and it's been great! I did add some memory to it a few years back, so it would run faster, a $50 upgrade. But all in all, a great deal and a great computer! You did good!

We have had the L765 for about a year, and it has been wonderful. My ONLY complaint - and really the only one I can think of - is the touch pad is a little 'touchy'. I think though, that it's because the mouse pad is centered weird for the size of the laptop (widescreen 17" with the ten key on the right), so I'm often touching the up/down part on the mouse pad when I don't mean to. If you got a good deal, I would go with it. Also, check and see if Amazon.com has any reviews on it.

Love my Toshiba Satellite, mine is a different model but my husband and his family hall have Toshiba Satellite models.

My husband has had his for awhile now and it's still going strong.

I think it's a very user friendly computer and definitely open it up.

Any brand of laptop you get is going to have it's pros and cons. You will find people that have had horrible experiences, and great ones.
We've hd 2 Toshibas (and every other brand you can think up, too), and they've been great.

Open it and play with it.
Make sure you understand and read the support, return and replacement policies for it. The majority of disgruntled cusotmer experiences stem from them not understanding what's covered with their tech support. Do your homework there. Then, enjoy it. It'll be fine. :)

I've had my Toshiba Satelite L505 for 1 1/2 years. I really like it. I use it for digital scrapbooking and making slideshows. My daughter uses it to make stop motion videos. I don't think we got as much processing (RAM) as we could have for these purposes but it still works VERY well.
