iPod Touch or Dsi?

I have 9 and 10 year old boys. I'm considering getting them each either an iPod Touch or a DSi for Christmas.

What do you ladies think? They take good care of their stuff, so durability is not really a concern.

What can I do next?

My children (boy age 11 and girl age 8) have both. They play with the iPod Touch way more than anything else. The games are mostly free or cost 99 cents. They especially like the free texting and calling with a free app they have (you have to be in a wi-fi area to use it). They also have their music on it. The new iPods have the facetime feature which my daughter has and loves. I would recommend the ipod over the DSi.

I would do the touch. My boys both have DS's and DSi's. They do play with them but given the option, play with my touch a ton more. And there are so many free games / cheap games. The games for the other system is so expensive. And we don't have to worry about losing the games (which happens on a regular basis !)

Ipod touch! AND if you think you would have the inclination to get them an iphone down the line, look on Craigslist and buy a deactivated iphone (which is essentially an ipod touch) then if you want them to have an iphone, just get it activated. Sorry that was long.

Hmm...two totally different devices. It really depends on what they want more. My kids have DSi's, and my husband and I have iphones...they all prefer our iphones. But when we cut them off, they run to the DSi's for technology games.

I guess it just depends on what they want out of it and the capability you want to give them.

My son (9) has a DS, and he likes my ipod too. To be honest he plays his DS a lot more than my ipod. But the games are astonishingly expensive!

Maybe get one of each, and they can mix and match

My 8 and 10 yr old each have a Dsi and I have an ipod touch. At first they really liked the ipod touch because it was the new cool thing, but they play with the ds way more consistently. My vote for their age is the ds. They still have time for the ipod stuff.
