I am looking for a romantic resturant to take my husband to for our 16th Wedding Anniversary. We love Italian, Latin, Steak and some Sea food. Maybe even a resturant that offers dinner and dancing. We both have long work schedules and rarely spend any time together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So What Happened?

I was pleasantly surprised by Sabatino's Resturant. The food was excellent, the service was great and the prices were incredible. When I made the reservation, I requested the private booth and told them that it was for my anniversary. When we arrived the resturant wasn't too busy since it was at 9pm on a Tuesday night but the place was very romantic. The private booth was so intimate. The portion size of all the food was very good. I was even suprised at the end of our dinner, the waitress brought us dessert with a sparkler and sang happy anniversary to us. She also brought over the violinist and guitarist to sing a few beautiful classic love songs. I am so glad that I had received so many nice recommendations. I am especially glad that this resturant was recommended. Thank you all very much.

If you want to listen to great jazz after dinner, I recommend the Green Dolphin on Webster off of Ashland.

My favorite romantic place is the signature room. The view is sooooo beautiful ( i think its the 95th floor of the John Hancock builidng) I would strongly recommend making a reservation though. Also Rancho Luna (great Cuban restaurant) has live music and salsa dancing. The food is excellent, but u would have to call to see what days they have the music on.

Hi L.,
my husband and I got married at the Monastero's banquests and every year for our anniversary we go there because it is so good. It's on Pulaski and Devon, they usually have a piannist there and it's very romantic, it's also Italian.

I really like West Town Tavern for quiet, good dinners. I love the ambience there and the food is really good, while being reasonable. It's a smaller place, so not so loud, with a great wine list. It just always makes me feel really good and cozy when we go there. It's on Chicago Ave a few blocks East of Ashland.

Another great restaurant is Cafe Laguardia on Armitage just west of Damen. Great Cuban food. Fun atmosphere.

My husband and I went to Geja's last week for our anniversary. It was very good, dark, live, light guitar, and relaxed. Try it, it's a fondue place. www.Gejascafe.com
There are a lot of great reviews on it on www.metromix.com

Hi L.-

Have you ever been to Geja's in Lincoln Park? It is a fondue restaurant on Armitage that is dark inside and the fondue lends itself to a long meal that allows for conversation and some good alone time.

Happy Anniversary!

We love Gioco (in the Loop), Marche (off Randoph) and Sappori Trattoria (Lincoln Park). Gioco and Marche are owned by the same people. Gioco has magnificent steak and is an old speakeasy. Marche has French food and is pricey but is f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s! Sappori is a new one that we have really enjoyed. The food is excellent, waitstaff friendly. This is an Italian place. They have a wonderful pumpkin stuffed ravioli number that is incredible. Happy 2nd!
