It's preschool, 4 year olds. There are 2 female teachers in the class. What are good ideas that are budget friendly? Also, do you do something each day? Or just one, two, three? What do you do? Thanks!!

What can I do next?

For two years now, parents in my son's classes have organized a "bring a flower day." Each kid brings one flower to add together to make a unique bouquet. Kids can bring one from home or one from the store. Roses, tulips, dandelions, etc!

This year we are also each going to give a small gift to put together into a gift basket. Gifts can be homemade or store-bought...ex: can of soda, candy, drawing, gift card, nail polish, snacks, etc...

I am sending a bunch of flowers to my son's kindergarten teacher and thanking her for helping my son "bloom". Thanks to mother's day, they were on a great sale.

I usually gave them a gift certificate to a place close by to eat. Or a nice bottle of wine. Many times the classroom parents pooled our money and gave a gift card to the mall or some place.

Check out Pinterest ;) lots of great ideas there! One simple idea is a bouquet of candy bars in a vase taped to dowels painted green with paper leaves, or soda.. "thanks for all you. "DEW"". (mt. Dew) or gift cards to the movies or Starbucks are always a hit.

Our school picks one day (thursday).

Go to the dollar store, they have a whole section just for teachers. At our school, the parents buy classroom supplies and stickers and usually people buy small gifts for teachers. I usually have a picture of our teacher from past parties and I buy a little frame, wrap it up and have my dd give it to her. I also give her a mug and or little plaque..."world's greatest teacher" or something like that (all from the dollar store).

In the fall, we have a casserole day the day before a teacher workday that is on Friday and children are out. This is at the Sr high school where daughter is wrapping up Junior year.

Every member of the staff receives a dinner for 4 ( salad, casserole, bread, dessert) which also can be frozen if needed. A local high end grocery offers a selection of casseroles for about $20 and desserts for around $10. The same store provides bread and PTA funds all salads. This is very appreciated by the staff.

Other things are the luncheons where teachers eat together for a whole hour with no lunch/recess duty. Flowers, gift cards, plates or ceramics with children's handprints, quilts for the classroom ( each child sponsors a square).

I hope you have fun! Many years of teacher appreciation to come!

We have a three day program so we do :Monday card from kid, Tuesday bring one flower each, and Wednesday all the kids wear the teachers favorite color. Since its so close to end of the year we usually save the pooling for a year end or bigger individual gifts till June!

I go a little nuts. I love teachers. I mean I REALLY love teachers. I always have.

He's in 4-K and has two teachers. two assistants, two therapists and his BELOVED gym teacher. That's SEVEN total.

This year it's:

Monday: lunch brought in

Tuesday: candles (my husband works for Johnson Wax so I get them cheap and they LOVE new products.)

Wednesday: we're baking three types of cookies

Thursday: flowers and a thank you note

Friday: he doesn't have school **whew**

As a teacher, it's not about gifts. My favorite is a card with a sweet note in it. Most teachers love chocolate! Kind words show true appreciation.

Our class bought our 2 teachers each a vase and every child is to bring in 1 single flower, per day, per teacher.. The vase was filled this morning with all different flowers from each child.. We are doing this all week.
We also gave 10.00 to one of the parents in charge and she is having either lunch or breakfast delivered to the teachers each day this week :)

As a teacher, one of the things I appreciate the most is when a parent brings me lunch. Find out what she likes to eat and bring her a salad and a bottle of sparkling water (or whatever) with a card and you have made her day! As a mom, my craziest part of my day is packing up three lunches (including mine) and I often neglect myself, so besides getting a yummy lunch it's the treat of not having to pack one!!
