OK ladies my creativity is lacking and thought I could find some here! I am in a study for ice cream novelties this week and need to create a collage that symbolizes how the kinds of frozen bars and treats people like and purchase makes them feel. I am stumped. I can use words or pictures from magazines. It cannot be pictures of the frozen treats. If any of you could just write a word or phrase of how these nummy treats make you feel or ideas of what to look for in some magazines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

When I was a kid, we'd always make homemade ice cream on the 4th of July. So ice cream to me is family time, kids playing in water sprinkers, fireworks, American flags on the front porch, etc.

How interesting! When I think of ice cream, I just think about simple happiness! As a child, I was madly in love with my grampa. He would take me to Baskin Robbins and I'd get a DOUBLE scoop of mint chocolate chip on a sugar cone. Grampa would always splurge and buy me a DOUBLE scoop!!!! Something my own parents would never really let me have. ;0) At my grandparents house, the freezer was always stocked with Purity Chocolate Chocolate Flake........something that they sadly don't sell anymore. My fondest memories of my grampa revolve around that simple treat. Ice cream and the feelings it causes seem to be timeless. Talk to someone 100yrs old or 3yrs old and they both LOVE ice cream and it makes them happy. I would definitely look for pictures of happy families spending time together. Pictures of a clock to symbolize how "timeless" ice cream is (maybe from TIME magazine. lol). Pictures of smiles, pictures of sunshine, pictures of cake which goes with ice cream! LOL How fun! Good luck with this fun project and thank you for the opportunity to remember my wonderful grampa today! =0)

definately a link back to childhood, and a reminder of those we've lost , grandparents, etc.

don't forget to add the experience of waiting on the ice cream truck and getting things you can only get from the truck.

Decadent and indulget are two terms that come to mind for me. I like to buy Edy's All Fruit Bars and bury them in the back of the freezer so nobody else knows they're there and then I only have them when the kids are gone or alseep. Sneaky, I know, but it's the only way to make sure I get any!

When I have a popcicle or ice cream bar I feel like a kid again. I can remember chasing the ice cream man for blocks around the neighborhood when we were kids. Just to get a half popcicle cause all I had was a nickel. nothing better than a blue popcicle when your 8 lol. And boy howdy if I had enough for a drumstick or a captain crunch bar I was really stylin lol

Ice cream is happy food. that has always been my ultimate thought on ice cream. it makes you feel good all over, it makes you feel young, reminds you of summer vacation, of just ultimate relaxation, it's a completely care free food.

But for me, all those statements refer to real, old fashioned ice cream, in a sugar cone or a bowl, could even be a sundae or a milk shake. Would also include sorbet/sherbet, but mainly ice cream.

happy, free, young, carefree, wild, sensual

For the novelty treats, I have less of a specific reaction.
I think they would remind you of your youth (feel young).
They could menally take you back to where you bought them as a kid - the beach, pool, chasing the ice cream truck down the block, etc.
first loves, dates, movies
Beyond the classic strawberry shortcake, chocolate eclair, chipwich, iced cream sandwich, frozefruit, rocket (red, white & blue), creamsicle, etc. there are all those crappy kids ones like sponge bob, spider man, etc. and these have displaced most of the classics. It's hard to find good novelty ones at the beach, which is where I associate them.

I would use all summer-related pictures, including fireworks, beach and pool, and just youthful, happy behavior. Look at brochures or websites for shore resorts, get pics of lots of happy family running on the beach, playing with beach balls, etc. type shots.

I have a wonderful picture of my daughter at a young age eating a ice cream bar at a baseball game. Her face is covered with ice cream. She was completely unfazed by the mess but rather fully enjoying this summertime indulgence.

Sticky hands, faces and discolored tongues.

Chocolate/vanilla twist ice cream cones are my favorite. When I was pregnant with my daughter the only place to get them back then was 45 miles away and I really craved them. I remember driving home from a town 85 miles away in a snowstorm and making my husband pull off at the town with an A & W to get a chocolate twist icecream cone. Now I enjoy them when I take my granddaughter shopping and we get one for on the way home...lol Nastalgic is what I would say twist ice creams cones makes me feel.

This is more than a word.. They always take me back to my childhood when the ice cream man would drive through our neighborhood. We loved sitting on the side walk and all eating our own choices..
We would be so quiet the first few moments enjoying our special treats..

I always loved fudgesicles. Every once in a while I purchase a box.

My beloved Grandfather liked Drumsticks, he would purchase one for me and one for himself and we would enjoy them together just the 2 of us. I loved feeling special doing something just with him.

Try thinking of what the ice cream name means and build on that. Like snickers - tiny secret laughter. Dove bar - a bird soaring into the sky. Sprinkles - a rainbow during a light rain shower. Rocky road - bare feet walking on smooth warm rocks. French silk - ivory silk sheets.
Good luck!

funny, I used to work for the ice cream desk at SuperValu! I would think of words like creamy, smooth, rich, dreamy, and feeling words like content, satisfied, and happy. I would use images like rich cream being poured from a container, fresh fruits, chocolate, and a person smiling with their eyes closed. Hope this helps.
