Are you looking for a form of birth control? If you are looking for ideas in that department you might check out an IUD. When they came on in the 70s (I think)they had some major design flaws, but they have been taken care of. I had two children back to back, literally, they are a year and 12 days apart so finding a birth control that really worked was important for us. I got the five year IUD and have had lots of success with it. I had a friend that got the copper IUD which is a 10 year IUD, who got sick and got it removed. It might be worth checking out and researching. The other great thing is that it was an in office procedure so my insurance covered the whole thing!

I didn't want to get pregnant, and couldn't remember to take birth control, so we used condoms, and didn't get pregnant. You should really think about doing more to prevent an unwanted pregnancy before the fact. Sorry, just my opinion.

There isn't anything you can do but do you realize that temperture taking only tells you that you've ovulated after you have done so? You usually ovulate before there is a spike in your temp. Once your temp jumps up that means you have just ovulated. We tried to conceive for 2 1/2 yrs before having our son and my dr. had me do the temp. thing to make sure I was ovulating and that is how I found out that the temp thing doesn't necessarily tell you when your ovulating instead it tells you that you have ovulated after the fact. You may want to try another form of BC.
Good luck

I am not a doctor or anything but I just don't understand why you are so against having another child, especially if you already have one. They are such a blessing. I do know that you can get pregant on the first time and sometimes you can't. I would go to yahoo and search for an online pregancy test. It is where you put in how long your cycle is, what date you had sex that you think you got pregant and a few other questions and it caculates what the precantage that you could be pregant. I know this because it worked for me. I was trying to get pregant with my second child and I went on there and typed in dates in the future and it helped me get pregant faster. It doesn't hurt to try it.

I would say that you may want to consider alternate forms of bc. There are lots of different pills on the market that are low in estrogen (that's what gives you the side effects). I take ortho tricyclinLO (sp?) and it's a very low estrogen pill with far less of the side effects you described. There's also what they call the "mini pill" that has no estrogen at all in it. That's what they gave me when I was nursing. The generic name is "errin." Until you can talk to your doc, I would use condoms. You can't rely on taking your temp alone. If you truly don't want to get pregnant, you need to be using some method of bc, but that's just my opinion.

If you are having unprotected sex, it is always going to be very likely that you are pregnant. This is just my opinion, but if you really don't want to become pregnant you should talk to your OB about different types of birth control. There are so many different kinds of birth control that if you talk to your OB I'm sure the two of you together could figure out what would work best for you.
