Hyland's Teething Tablets

My 13 month old has more teeth coming so we have been giving her 3 of these tablets at night before bed. Are these safe to use on a daily basis? I have heard that the belladonna contained in the tablets are a sleep aid and you can possible overdose on it. The pills don't seem to make her drowsy - I usually give them to her about an hour before bed time. We have only been using them at night.

These tablets are the greatest thing ever - i was told that you can use them like cough drops for adults - like no more than 1-2 an hour but not for an extended period of time - does that make sense? Like i used them for both of my kids - because they were suggested by a friend of mine. They are homeopathic - which indicates that you can't overdose on them - but that being said - my pediatrician said that "over use" could cause a dependency to occur - and by over use he said lke 2+ tablets an hour for days on end - so it doesn't sound to me like most people have anything to worry about.

For those of you looking for them - i know in the Harrisburg area the ONLY place i have found them is Kmart - in the baby food section they are a small bottle and the "pills" are about the size of birth control pills - and they disolve in the childs mouth -so there isn't really any mess.

ANd - they can be used for adults too -they work really well when you've bitten your lip and you keep rebiting it - and it stays sore for a long time - or if you have a teenager who has braces that are rubbing their gums/lips they are good for that too.

Hope that Helps!

I used the Hyland Teething Tablets for my daughter as she struggled through her days/nights of teething. She did great with them and was grateful that I "accidently" heard Kelly on Regis & Kelly comment that she had used the very tablets on her kids! She said "...without Hyland Teething Tables I would have gone CRAZY with my kids teething... I thought I would give them a try! They helped with all but her 2 yr molars....the only thing that helped was a LARGE DOSE of PATIENCE there...smile....sooo for what it is worth...we loved them and they didnt make my daughter sleepy either! I had also asked the local pharmacist if they were good AND safe to use and he said YES! Best of Luck to you!

J., please check with your doctor about this. While Belladonna is used in several medecines including one for colicky babies and does have its uses, the plant itself is a deadly poison. It is probably fine but it is always good advice to double check with your doctor to be sure.

I've never heard of these tablets, but if you are adhering to the dosing instructions on the package you should be okay. I would recommend consulting with your pediatrician to be sure.

I loved this product.I personally feel it works better than Orgel(sp)and my dr didn't recommend using orgel.I know in the Meadville,Greenville,Hermitage area you can find them at WalMart. They also have a web sit.I think it's
www.highland.com
not sure about the web site but all their products are good.

We used these for my now 5 year old. Someone told us about them when she just started teething. I found them at wal-mart in w/the vitamins on the bottom shelf, if anyone's looking for them! We gave her two tablets once or twice a day when she was really fussy from her teeth coming in.

I have an almost 15 month old and we've used them on her a few times.

We've never used orajel or anbesol on either of my youngest two, we strictly used these teething tablets or Tylenol.

I always used them as needed, even if that means daily. I've never had any problems with it negatively affecting my kids. I love the product.
