Yikes, I dropped a citronella candle coming in the door one night and it splashed all over the door and the door facing. It is also on the glass. Does anyone know an easy way to remove dried candle wax?
I used the hair dryer and it worked great, even on the wallpaper and it did not leave a greasy stain. I used paper towels to wipe it up as it melted. Didn't take long at all. I used a razor blade on the window glass and used the hair dryer to melt away the residue.
You may have it all removed by now, but ice is usually the best way to handle wax. Get it cold and it will break away. On the glass you can use use a razor blade.

Oooh! I know this one! I spilled a candle about 5 years back and found this from Hints from Heloise!! Take some paper towels and place on top of the dried wax. Then put a small hand towel over it. Next, take your iron and steam and iron the towel... It's actually melting the wax again and then making it stick to the paper towels. You may have to adjust the paper towel and hand towel ratio (hee hee) a few times to get it right, but I SWEAR it works!!!
Candle wax remover. Also great on crayons. Removes wax fast. Good luck.
If it hardens, peel it off. Remove any stan with magic eraser or something like that.
On carpet. Use ice and harden it to peel it off.
Use a hot iron. Place newspaper over the area where the wax is, then put the hot iron on the newspaper. The paper should soak up the wax and not get on the iron....that or scrape it off w/ a razor blade. Good luck!
I personally have used a hot iron (like the kind for clothing) and placed a thin towel over the spot. it came right up!
try a product called de-solve it.. its like an orange glow type of product and use a pampered chef scraper and it will work for you
We used "goo be-gone" on some glass vases we had. We scraped off the big pieces then used the "goo ge-gone" on the rest.
Been there myself so I ditto using the iron, newspaper (or brown paper bag) and hand towel. It really works!!
Heat the candle wax with your blow dryer until it melts. Wipe the melted wax up with paper towels. Be patient. It takes time. Once all the wax and oil is removed, clean lightly with a carpet cleaner you can buy at the grocery store. This removes any oil. As for the mirror. It will clean with windex.
Heat up the wax with a blow dryer. It should wipe off easily. Good luck!
one easy way is to grab a towel you don't care much about and an iron. plug in the iron, and place the towel over the spilled wax and iron the towel. the wax will stick to the towel.
I'm just going to repeat what has already been said, because it really works! Use newspaper (this works best) or brown paper bags, and either an iron (the clothing kind) on the lowest setting as to not melt the carpet, or the paint, or a blow dryer. Place the paper over the wax and use which ever heat element you prefer, heat the wax till it melts and soaks into your paper source. It works!!! Good luck!!
You can also use compressed air to freeze it if you don't want to mess with ice cubes.
