How to Loose Weight

I know that eating right and exercise is how to loose weight. I am a first time mom of a 10 month old and I am having a tough time finding the time to exercise. It doesn't help that I really don't like to, but I really don't see when I would be able to. I work full time. When I get home around 6pm, I give my son a bath, feed him, spend a little time with him before he goes to bed. Then I make dinner, eat, wash dishes and prepare for the next day. By the time all of this is complete, its time for me to go to bed (10pm or so). Any suggestions?

I also work and have 3 kids and I'm so exhausted most of the time it's hard to be motivated to workout. The only way I've been successful is to join a class and the only time I have is 5:30am. I live in Plano and there's a trainer who lives in my neighborhood who has a Mommy Booty Camp in the parking lot at my son's school which is walking distance from my house. Before that, I went to a class at the recreation center. It worked great. For some reason, if I pay for it and have a time scheduled to be somewhere I'm more likely to show up and do the work.

If morning is not doable for you, is dad able to take over bath time or make dinner or do other evening chores so you can put in a video, take a walk or something?

Good luck!

I lost weight after having my kids by exercising when I could even if it is just Sat. and Sun. I, also, stay active by taking the stairs, parking far away, etc. I ate a good breakfast like a banana with peanutbutter, whole grain bread with peanutbutter. Something that would last a long time. I ate Smart Ones and Lean Cuisines for lunch with unsweetened applesauce or a 100 cal snack pack. Afternoon snacks are a must for me, so I have a serving of Triscuits. They have lots of yummy flavors with a small diet cola(you can buy the little cans at Walmart). Then for dinner have a salad or low cal soup. Put all kinds of veggies in your salad to make it more interesting and eat as much as you want, just limit the dressing. Harvest Select is a good brand of soup. Lots of different good flavors. I still follow this diet and weigh less than before I had my boys. Oh and treat yourself once a week or so. Eat your favorite food for lunch on Sunday or dinner Sat. evening and have a sweet treat occasionally, too. You have to allow yourself something you really like sometimes and not feel guilty about it!! Good luck!!

Eat sensibly in 3 meals with small snacks to keep hunger at bay. Don't wait till 8 pm when you inhale the fast food leftovers. Eat earlier when you have time to eat grilled/baked meats with limited starches and lots of veggies. Limit sweets and heavy sauces. Think light for liquids. Exercise is great, even if just 15 minutes of walking at lunch time. Then on the weekends, you can do concentrated exercises. Slowly and surely, no pills, no fads.

You don't HAVE to work out to lose weight. I lost 40 pounds in 2007 without intentionally working out (other than occasional walks around the neighborhood). The key to weight loss is to consume fewer calories than you burn. Try counting calories and eating between 1200 to 1500 a day and see how much you lose in a two week period. Never eat less than 1200 calories, because that is bad for your body and metabolism.

My husband and I have been doing weight watchers for exactly a month today. I have lost 11 pounds and my husband has lost 25 (it figures!) You can do it just online (which is what I do) or you can go to meetings. My mother-in-law goes to a meeting on Saturday mornings (she has lost 40 lbs!) I love it!

Hello! I know how you are feeling! My schedule is like yours, and I have 2 that are 2 and under! I have been on Medifast since November, and I have lost 35 lbs. It does cost, but it's the only "diet" that I have ever been on that works w/out exercise. I do need to start incorporating a daily exercise routine but so far I have not! I am now back to my pre first baby weight, and I can't wait to lost about 15 more! I eat 4-5 of their prepackaged meals and I eat one meal of my own. I eat 2 veggie patties and a Diet Dr Pepper at night...IT TAKES QUITE A BIT OF WILL POWER! But so far it's been worth it! It is healthy and it came out of John Hopkin's University! I don't mean to sound like an ad for them, but I have seen major results! Good luck w/your weight loss!

You are not alone. Most people have so much other stress in their life that it's difficult to find time to exercise. In case you haven't heard of adaptogens, they are a category of herbs that help the body deal with stress, restore balance, and support normal metabolic processes. (A lot has been discussed recently about adaptogens, even Oz on Oprah). Often times stress causes us to overeat as well as produce excess cortisol (causes the body to store fat). Adaptogens support weight management by regulating blood sugar, insulin metabolism, and cortisol levels; aid in digestion; and increase energy. In fact, adaptogens have the ability to shift the body's metabolism to a greater use of fat for energy.

To learn more about fast acting adaptogen sprays (Slim is wonderful for cravings and weight control) and watch "The Story of Adaptogens Documentary" 10 minute video, go to VitalHealth.TunguskaMist.com

You'll have more energy and endurance to work out with adaptogens. Can you squeeze in time for some weight training? How about using some dumbbells while watching tv @ home, or during a quick break @ work? Lean muscle mass will help speed up your metabolism, thus you'll burn more calories. Avoid fast food, processed foods, and especially all types of soft drinks, if you are not already. Eating 5-6 small healthy meals throughout the day, while drinking plenty of water helps keep your engine burning!

2 great books that I recommend are: Living Lean, by Larry North and Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief by Winston and Maimes.
