Someone asked about a cream to remove hair for their daughter, and it got me wondering, do you shave , wax, or use a cream down below? I shave everything, but hate the act of shaving daily...does anyone have any creams that worked for the sensitive areas down below?

What can I do next?

My hair grows very slow, so I shave J. the bikini line once a week. Then I know this sounds odd, but I put a little bit of doederant on where I shaved it and it keeps the red bumps away

I don't shave or wax down there...After six kids, if hubby doesn't like it, oh well. ;)

I try to be as modest as possible in all walks of my life, so when we go swimming I wear swim shorts or a swim skirt and a swimsuit that's a tank. Even so, sometimes hair peeks out now any then. I've J. decided that it's the way God made M. and oh well.

I did wax my bikini line for my wedding...yeah, I was a virgin and I was nervous that he wouldn't "approve"! Boy did I have nothing to worry about. He was J. happy to finally be able to have sex with M.! lol

Even when hubby "goes down" (blush!!!!) on M. I don't shave. We once had a discussion that went kind of like this...

M.: Does the fact that I don't shave my pubic area bother you? (I was feeling insecure after baby #3)

Hubby: Does the fact that I don't shave MY pubic area bother YOU?

M.: Huh?

Hubby: I expect to get some mouth action (his term for it lol) on my hairy parts, what would prevent you from expecting mouth action on your hairy parts? And no. It doesn't bother M..

M.: I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

lol

I swear I married the best guy EVER.

I'm terrified of waxing; I hate even getting my eyebrows done.

I shave using the schick intuition plus, then afterwards I put a little neosporin on there to avoid ingrown hairs and razor bumps. The neosporin really helps in the summer when you're sweaty or wet from swimming, J. protects that sensitive area. I probably shave twice a week during bathing suit season.

This may be the year where i'll try the waxing by a pro..My hair grows super fast I shave in the morning by mid day I have prickles yes I have always been like this.To keep the irration down & the bumps away I use conditioner the shaving cream is irrating & drying to M. doesn't matter what kind it is.I only use my razors once or twice tops then toss them.I don't like to be all hairy down there trimmed up evenly & the swim suit line has to be hair free if not no swim suit.
The Coochie shaving lotion hmmm maybe i'll look into this.

I second the Coochie. But when I don't have that I use conditioner.

I shave twice a month, the first time being right before my period because it J. makes it even feel even worse than it actually is if it's all hairy down there. After I've stopped bleeding for a few days I will shave again.

I will have to look into this Vaseline or Neosporin thing, sounds interesting!

I wax professionally. I've tried shaving various times, with various suggestions (using a brush on your skin for the next few days does help), but always get painful red bumps. When I wax I don't get a rash.

I tried once to wax myself. I ended up cutting the wax out. I J. couldn't face pulling it.

Waxing is painful, but it is only once a month, and then I don't have to think about it. And it gets better over time.

I've shaved all my life. One time tried waxing before a trip to Hawaii and I will NEVER do that again. I have a very high tolerance for pain, took Ibuprofin beforehand, didn't go near my period, etc. (really read up on it) and I almost flew off the table when she ripped the strips off. I ended up w/ blood blisters in the area and got to show those off in HI.

I J. signed up for a Groupon for laser hair removal and had my first session about 5 weeks ago; next session is next week. I am more than thrilled w/ the results as already the hair on my bikini line has thinned out dramatically: I think I've shaved maybe 2 times in 5 weeks and normally I would have to shave every other day or everyday in the summer. Anyway, one thing I can say if you go this route is do your research on the lasers. I did a groupon laser at another establishment and did not have the same results (in another area); the laser was much, much weaker. At the latest establishment, woowee did it hurt but the results were 100% better.

I use a shaving lotion called Coochie that I get from a friend who is a Slumber Parties rep, and there's no razor burn. And I only shave when there's cunnilingus in the offing.

I've tried laser hair removal a few times... Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with it, so the hair is less than it was, but definitely not hair-free... It's painful, but not unbearable... (like someone taking a rubber-band and zapping you...)

Years ago I tried Nair (in the hot pink bottle)... if you can get over the smell it's not horrible... it's a little messy......

Good luck!

I use Skintimate mosturizing shaving gel for dry, sensitive skin. Then I put vaseline on the area for a few days. My hair doesn't grow fast, so I shave one per month, usually after my period. Shaving too much can cause irritation and razor bumps. YIKES!
