Magic Eraser. It works like a charm. I tried so many products to get off hard water stains, the only thing that really worked well was Magic Eraser. Good luck & happy cleaning!

I like Comet for J. about everything stain related (as far as surfaces go) but you have to use it properly. A sprinkle and a rinse won't do. Dampen the surface, put on a LOT of comet, and let it sit for about half an hour. Go back and scrub, scour, etc, rinse, and repeat.

I use Comet in my porcelain tub and sink. Wet the surface, scrub the Comet into the surface with a scrub brush, let it sit for 20 minutes or so, and then rinse. Be sure you're careful when you get into the tub next time...bleach leaves a slick surface!

For us dishwasher detergent and a heavy duty scrubbing sponge did the work. Some stains however are so burned into the ceramic they J. will not come off.

Try some scrubbing bubbles. I have the Extend A Clean stuff and I swear it works the best. I don't use it every time I clean I am not a big fan of chemicals, but the takes off hard water stains and all the soap scum.

I also clean the bathrooms about once a week, the showers every two weeks. I do keep Method brand wipes (they are like Clorox cleanups) if the sink or counters need to be wiped off.

We clean our tub with cheap shampoo. Pour it on, smooth it out and let it sit over night. Works better than cleaners. You could try that.

Let the powdered bleach cleaners sit on over night..sprinkle on, wet and scrub in...then scrub and rinse in the morning.

If that doesn't work, document your cleaning techniques to your landlord and get the tub resurfaced. The porcelain finish might be gone, or porous due to old age.

If none of these other ideas don't work I'd try Bar Keeper's Friend. That's my go to stuff when something refuses to go away with Comet or bleach.
