Had many baseball caps in the house- put them in the dishwasher- not with dishes- been doing it for years.

I know you've gotten a ton of responses already, but I wanted to add that my husband's hat goes through the washer all the time (he leaves it wrapped in his dirty clothes which I refuse to separate for him!!) and it ends up totally fine. When I find it there, I just take it out and let it air dry and the shape is normal!

Try the top rack of the dishwasher. They also make plastic molds that hold the hat while washing. Good luck.

I wash ours in cold water in the washing machine (after spraying with stain remover the inside rim where it gets yucky). Then I fold a small towel inside it to help keeps its shape and put it on top of the washer to dry.

I always wash my son's caps in the washing machine with his regular laundry and then reshape & hang to dry. I purchased a plastic cap saver and that works well for my husband's caps but it is way too big for the smaller size caps that my son wears. I have heard you can put them on the top rack of the dishwasher like other have suggested.

Hi S.,

They sell plastic covers for baseball caps that then go into the dishwasher. Works great!

Top rack of dishwasher and let air dry. Pre-treat any big stains with OxyClean. I've never had them warp or bleach out. Good luck!

There is this gadget that you can buy that allows you to clean it in your diswasher. Yes, for real it keeps the cap in shape and does a decent job cleaning the hat.

Clean them in the top rack of your dishwasher where glasses and cups go. It helps maintain the shape of the hat.

Hi,
I don't know if they still have them around, but i remember there used to be these plastic forms the shape of a hat that you could put in the dishwasher. They were like a strainer and you open it and put the hat in it and close it. The water gets through the holes and the hat is cleaned. Other then that just wash it in the sink and let it air dry.
Hope this helps.

I wash them in washer. There is a wire drying rack (shaped like a baseball cap) that can be bought so the cap does not loose its shape. Don't know if you can find them for hats that fit 3 year olds! my sons are 17 & 15.

try washing them in the dishwasher. I do this all the time with my son's caps... You can also purchase a shape saver to use in the dishwasher or washing machine.

Put them in the top shelf of your dishwasher and drip dry. They make a plastic mold to put them over when you wash them like that but it is usually adult sized. They should be fine all on their own. You can pretreat any stains with regular laundry detergent too.

My mother actually use to put them in the dishwasher on the top shelf...with nothing else in it.. the steam as great and kept them looking new. They do have those plastic holders now that you can buy (cheap at walmart, ect) that allows you to put it in a washing machine as well. I think it is to help keep its shape...

I wash my husbands hats in the washer all the time. I never put them in the dyer. I shape them and let them air dry. Learned that the hard way. I put them in a pillowcase and tie the end off. I also pre-treat too.
I've never had and problems.
