My son would love meme day. He and his friends quote memes all the time. He likes No U, moth and YEET at the moment. A tshirt with: Doge (Doge is that cute pomeranian dog) or grumpy cat. Both are old memes though...I'm not up on the latest memes.

My 11 year old definitely knows what a meme is. She loves them and are into them like most kids in this age group are. My daughter has a button that says I love memes. Like one person suggested get a t-shirt and write their favorite memes on the shirt. If there is a meme character they like have them dress up as that character. Good luck!!

ETA: I love B's response. I have to admit, I was not quite sure either. I think kids are up on this, I just know they show up on my Facebook at times :)

You could do up a Tee Shirt with STAY CALM AND ... (whatever his favorite activity is..) or something. Easy to do - we just did a tee shirt recently - you can use fabric markers or just sharpies. Super quick.

Well, this is not exactly helping parents to cut down on screen time!

Does your 11-year-old know what a "meme" is? This would be a good opportunity for some parent-child safe internet exploring. Look online to see the history of memes and explore some famous memes. Look at the "Webby Awards". Choose a meme that your child enjoys!

ETA: For the responses saying that it seems likely the 11-year-old knows what a meme is - well then, why is mom asking for help here? Maybe mom needs to study up on memes.... Either way, as I wrote above, "a good opportunity for some parent-child safe internet exploring", a chance to learn together!

If my son came home with an assignment like this the first thing he'd have to do is to tell me what a meme is.

I just googled "meme costumes," and there were some really cute (and easy) ideas.

But what does your 11 year old say? My 12 year old son is super creative and wouldn't need any help from me, but that was so not me at 12 (or ever). I definitely need google!

What is meme day? What does your daughter need to do? Did the teacher give you ideas to work from?

The restrictions seem like costumes are out.
