Call a feeding therapist or have your Peditritain recommend one. People will tell you a baby will eat when hungry, it's an instinct and that's not true. The only 2 instincts are to keep the head upright and breathe. Parent Child services is a great place. It may seem extreme but you will find answers from a feeding therapist. Hope that helps.

I feel for you- that is a veru hard situation to be in -
is he going to be in daycare - if not you could try a spoon - I am guessing you have already tried different nipples and differeent sized bottles - but an importnat thing is to start with really small nipples - DR brown - Level One is good
ANother really important thing is that someone else give the bottle - My son would never take the bottle fm me since he knoew I had the good stuff :-)
ALso is the liquid in the sippy cup the same as what he gets otherwise - is it breastmilk?your baby may not likethe taste of formula
ALso remember that breastmilk defrosted has a very different taste to a baby - my son never took to defrosted breast milk and my freezer stash was a waste
Try www.kellymom.com for more suggestions - ther are a great resource
Is he exclusivle breastfed ?

K., I went back to work when my daughter was 3months old... she refused to take the bottle for about 3weeks to a month-- it took that long for her not to be cranky and to accept the bottle... The only one that she would take is the bottle that literally looks like a breast (i cant think of the name of it)it is in first step catalog...everyone used to laugh because it reminded them of the meet the fockers movie :) but, I just wanted to let you know that she will eventually catch on... my mother watches my daughter and she almost pulled her hair out for a month trying to get her to take the bottle... SHE WILL NOT STARVE...I was beside myself also...she will eventually get it!!! I will let you know the name of the bottle or you can look on the one step ahead website... I am a nurse so I asked the lactation consultant what I could do to help her adjust and she said to put the nipple in your shirt for a while to pick up the scent, leave a shirt at home with the baby, put her in a bouncy seat or away from the body(some say to put them close to the body with your shirt, who knows???), squirt some of the breast milk in her mouth before you give her the bottle or put breast milk on the nipple of the bottle, dont give her the bottle yourself- leave the room and have someone else to give the bottle to her- she might not take it from you... hope some of this helps, if you have anymore questions let me know, i have been through it recently!!! I will find out the name of that bottle and let you know.
Thanks,
M.

Hi K.,

I would have someone else give her the bottle while you are out of site. She might get upset and refuse it in the begining but eventually she will take it (she won't be hungry forever!).
Good luck!
