Does anybody have a healthy family meal plan they are willing to share? Or free web sites that are good. I want to make good meals, but am always stumped on what to make that kids will eat. I hate meal planning. I don't mind cooking if the plan is there.

She provides recipes plus a shopping list so all you do is go to the store and buy what the list says. I enjoy doing the freezer meals. I'll buy a type of meat on sale and make "5 for the Freezer" Chicken meals all at one time. She gives you the prep and assembly instructions and just makes it very simple. She's a nutritionist, so they are healthy. She offers several different types of menus to choose from (low carb, vegetarian, normal, etc). She's Flylady's nutritionist sidekick if you've heard of Flylady (www.flylady.net)

Through mamapedia LAST week, I was offered to try a website that offers good menus for much less than normal. I paid $17 for a 6 month subscription to www.relishrelish.com It normally is $7 a month. Maybe you can still get a discount through this site???

It offers MANY recipes and menus to choose from (we chose lower calorie) and they are GOOD. It also generates a shopping list that is organized and easy to follow. You can also dial up or down the number of servings and it will adjust the recipe and shopping list (2, 4, 6, or 8 servings). It also has freezer meals. All meals provide nutrition information. Also has crockpot, kid friendly, and simple gourmet meals. Loving it so far!!!

My family always does best with the basics. I think things get unhealthy when you go out or get too complicated.

Lean meat from Whole Foods store...... hamburgers. With healthy beans, salad, vegie.

Baked or barbecued chicken, breasts (I cut off all fat and de-vein before cooking)......vegies, salad, nice bread with butter

chicken salad with leftovers. EAsy on mayo.

Spagetti is healthy if you use the lean meat I suggested. You can use spagetti squash instead of pasta too. Again, a salad, vegie

I'm trying to say, just make a basic healthy meat/fish/poultry. Add a vegie without adding sauces or cheeses (a little healthy butter or margarine if your family likes), a salad easy on the dressing.

We make chicken fajitas with chicken breast. grilled onion, guacamole and if the kids want sauce or a little graded cheese.

For us it is about avoiding high fat and sauces. Lots of fruit and vegies.

Just thought I'd pass along the name of my new favorite cookbook: America's Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook - I recently received it as a gift and just love it.

try googling the sneaky chef books and see if there are some great recipes available for that. I know she has a couple of cook books and as ridiculous as some of the recipes sound, the kids will eat it! Check it out at the library if you can't find any free things on line.
