I am looking for a really neat Father's Day Gift idea. We are having our 3 child any day and I wanted to start planning a good fathers day gift. Maybe something with a picture or something he can put in his office.

What can I do next?

My husband has a large frame with spaces for individual photos. Each year I update it with recent photos of the kids. He really likes that. He also likes "gadgets and guy things" like those found on www.thinkgeek.com.

Last year, I got my husband a watch with a face that flips open to reveal a photo on the base and an inscription on the top. The watch looks very professional, so no one knows there's anything inside except him. I put a photo of me holding our baby inside. He loves it. I hope you find something that works well for you.

I bought my husband a shaviing mirror from Sharper Image (about $50) one year and he LOVED it. It attaches to the shower spout and the mirror doesn't fog up. I also had a picture of the kids and I taken that he keeps in his office - a fun picture of the kids sitting on my back with big smiles on their faces.

we are up dating hand prints on a t-shirt the kids haven't done that since babies and my husband loves those shirts he almost turned them into rags wearing them so much. So this yr we are getting new t-shirts and new colors to do hand prints the childs name and yr. We are also thinking about a pic from a studio that will do just one and make some copies there. We want to give him one that we can't hand out to anyone else.

Have a professional photographer come in and take photo-journalistic shots of you and the baby, your husband and the baby, and the 3 of you. These shots will be taken while you are doing normal stuff that will mean more than simply posing in front of a camera. I've seen some really spectacular work out there and think it would be a great present any time of the year.

That sounds nice, but be sure to incorporate something he likes into it! Make it different anc cute.

Like my husband likes Star Wars, so I would probably have my two girls dress up like Princess Leia or Padme Amadala. It could be a collage frame where you can put different photos of them in it. Have them hold a sign that says "We love you daddy" and a plate with his favorite dessert (cookies on it) in a picture together.

Something that is really affordable and very unique is making a collage of your photos on a Kleenex box. There's a large chance no one else at your husbands office will have that on their desks. Go to mykleenex.com; the cost is only $4.99 plus shipping. I made one for both my parents with pictures of my son on one side and pictures with them and him on the other. You can also put quotes, decorations, etc. The site is really user friendly and both my parents are always getting compliments on theirs.

Make the whole day special!

Let THEM (with your help) put together a breakast for him and take it into HIM on a tray or whisk him off to Starbucks for special family time. Bring a small board game & give them a special gift of time together! Have someone snap a picture while you're there and later put it in a frame for his office! WHAT a memory!

Then when you get home give him "time for him!" He can nap or play a sport or work out. While he is busy you and the kids can clean up his car for him as a surprise and put a sweet card that the kids made (ahead of time) on the steering wheel! Add a starbucks gift card and he'll have something to small at for weeks to come as her remembers the special day for weeks to come!

Well, I guess it depends on what he likes. For Christmas, my daughter got her Dad a nice 8" x 10" LCD digital picture frame for his office. I think it was a hit because it met the "guy gift criteria": it was thoughtful (his favorite hobby is photgraphy), it was a cool gadget, and it was useful (saved a lot of surface space). Even though he recieved some things that were nicer, that picture frame is still his favorite and he regularly invites people into his office to see it. It was a good gift for him because he's very "business" and not especially sentimental.
Some Dads might appreciate a more personal gift like a cast of the kids hands (you can buy the kit at a craft supply store) or an everyday item (like a wooden picture frame or catch-all box) that has been decorated by the kids. Hope that gives you some ideas. Good luck!

Let the 2 girls make him something special, you add your own personal touch, and put it in a basket along with a card, maybe his favorite cigar, choclate candy, gum, whatever and suprise him with a Father's Day Breakfast that morning, if you are able to with the baby coming......just a few ideas! And you could take snap shots and then give him a small photo album to keep at work....like a brag book!!

Last year I put together a frame with pictures and I bought a beautiful card and placed it in place of a picture. Ours was black, but you could also do silver or wood. Something masculine. Buy a frame that's divided into 4's, one being larger than the other three. Now days you could find a card with anything to fit a person. The card shoud be a 5x7 or smaller. Then in the other three place your children in each one. And if you're lucky find one with 5 and place yours there as well. My husband took his to work and everyone comments on it and it made my husband cry.
Good luck......S.

Hi,
We do a lot of the paint-your-own-pottery type gifts. I've let the kids paint mugs and pencil holders and lightswitch covers and tiles and plates. We also do a plate with a picture made out of handprints each year. It's a lot of fun.

Great question - I know that I created a mini-album for my husband once that he keeps in his car. He loves looking at it from time to time. All those online photo places have some great ideas when it comes to that stuff.

Also, an AWESOME website to check out for great gifts for guys (or anyone) is www.cloud9living.com. My friend purchased a gift for her husband on this site and he was SO excited! You can purchase gift certificates for great experiences - stock car driving, balloon rides, golf, helicopter rides, spas, etc...a TON of options. Plus, you can purchase based on how much you want to spend. The certificate comes beautifully packaged with great presentation. I can't wait to use this site for my husband sometime.
