What about a "park kit?" This would be a bag full of inexpensive things to do at a park. Maybe a couple of water bottles, a frisbee, a nerf football, a whiffle ball set, those paddles you covered with velcro that you use to toss a tennis ball back and forth, etc.

A great gift for newlyweds are photo frames. These can also be taken on the plane.

For Dad - my girls would buy golf tees and golf balls since he loves to golf and I would purchase a couple 18 hole times at his favorite course. We also buy bicycle items as he loves to bike etc. If your husband loves to fish then maybe some fishing gear. Let the kids gift wrap it themselves. My girls would actually take plain white paper and decorate it themselves for their wrapping paper.

Have fun.

Give the newlyweds what every newly married couple needs desperately: $250 in counseling. ;D

As for Dad, how 'bout a set of fishing rods in varying sizes for varied sized people - or an aluminum ladder....

For my husband's first father's day, I found a T-shirt that said "World's Greatest Dad" that came with fabric paints so my daughter could put her handprints on it or, if she were older could draw or write on it. I found it at Target but, I'm sure you could reproduce the idea.

Also,

If you go onto amazon.com, they have several Kama Sutra gifts that might be an idea for your Newlywed friends that can be taken on the plane packed in a suitcase.

I'm not sure how unusual it is but a storybook/scrapbook, hardbound that looks professionaly done is a really nice gift. Also you could make a deck of playing cards for him, with fun family facts on it!

for the newleyweds a deck of cards, that they could play with on the plane would be fun, and you could put thier pictures on it, or advice for married life.

I am including a link below of deck of cards I made my dad for Christmas, it just has pics of my girls on it, but you can put anything on them you like.

We did the handprints on the teeshirt when my kids were little. last year we bought a dartboard but it's velcro, so it's safer to have in the house. Board games that the whole family can play together are a great gift too. For my husband's 50th a couple of years ago, we gave him a Playstation 3 and now the kids give him new games every year. Some are rated E so they can all play together (our son just turned 10).
We also got a volleyball set for our backyard as a Father's Day present and one year a great double size hammock from Brookstone.

Last year for my husband's birthday day I gave him a portable hammock, and he LOVED it. I got it a Bed Bath and Beyond for $100. It folds up into a carrying case and can easily be transported. It was great for camping, etc...
Also, for father's day I gave him a fire pit thingy for our back yard. I got it at Walmart for $50. We used it a lot over the summer.

coupons are fun like a free car wash, backrub, dishes, etc from the kids.

newlyweds would appreciate money, gift cert, jewelry lol like a nice watch, or something pertaining to their trip, like a rental car coupon, or gift certificate, sunblock and other trip prep stuff for the climate/activities.

Dad -- golf pass; "Lasso Golf" game (great outdoor game to play with kids and friends/saw at Kohl's at Christmas time?); croquet; horseshoe game; BBQ Apron (canvas and paint with kids handprints and/or "World's Greatest Dad" / can also make a card with the same fingerpainting idea with a cute poem).

Newlyweds -- Goodie box with: Plastic champagne glasses w/sparkling cider (or have them ask for can of soda when on plane because I can't remember about the liquid rule if it's sealed?), little fun snacks (crackers, cheese sticks, pretzels, peanuts, etc.), 2 books, photo keychain, little travel game (like "Pass the Pigs" or card game).

Have fun! Best wishes!!

This is a fun idea for the kids to do for dad, depending on the ages of the kids anyway. Take a T-shirt and take some fabric paint and have the kids put their hand/foot prints on it and you can write ( with the fabric paint ) on it and say something like: " World's Best Dad" or " We Walk On Daddy". You could also do a collage of different pictures of special times spent with Daddy.

Newlyweds: You could give them a wedding or honeymoon scrapbook ( if they are into that at all ) When we got married we really enjoyed the gift cards...we were able to get some really neat stuff that no one would have thought to get us. Good Luck!!
