Getting Ink from a Pen off from the Inside of a Dryer and off All the Cloths.

Use really cheap hairspray, like Aquanet. Spray it on and wipe it off. My son left a red pen in light gray jeans. It took a whole can but I saved a $50 pair of pants.

I would be willing to bet that a Mr Clean Magic Eraser will work inside the dryer.. but I am terrible at getting stains out of clothes so you don't want any advice from me on that ;)

L.: I don't know if this will work on metal or plastic - but it may be worth a try.
I have used it on material - on small spots and it has worked.
Spray some hair spray on spots you want to remove then wash if clothing or wipe down with a clean cloth on the plastic and meteal
Hope it works for you. I am concerned with the clothing tho. They have been dried and I hope that has not set the ink stains.

I've used hairspray to take ink out of clothes, leather car seats, furniture (even a silk chair), and off hard surfaces. I've found that the best product to use is usually the cheapest you can find. :) I always keep a couple of small trial size cans of White Rain hairspray on hand for this purpose.

I have recntly using Melaleuca products and they have a product called SolUMel which takes off even two year old spots in carpet and it is environmentally safe. I recommend it for all difficult cleaning. Otherwise try a print head cleaner available in any office supply store, or Target, Meijers, WalMart etc.

Last fall my husband so sweetly got me a new Caprio washer and dryer(front loaders). I also missed a pen and it was all over the inside of the dryer. We used mineral spirits and it took a lot of ellbow grease but it all came off. Good luck!!!

use rubbing alcohol. i think that's why hair spray works too, b/c of the alcohol.

I have used hairspray to get ink off of furniture and clothing. It was amazing! Not a sign of ink was left behind. I sprayed the hairspray onto a cloth and then rubbed the furniture. With clothes, you can spray it right onto the stain. Probably same for the washer/dryer, though I am not sure it will come off the plastic part you are talking about.

rubbing alcohol my mom is a nurse and always left pens in her clothes this always worked even on whites.

I would try using a magic eraser for the inside of the dryer and oxyclean on the clothes. Hope that helps.

Hair spray will usually disolve ink on most any surface.Warm up the dryer and then spray with hair spray then wipe clean.Don't inhale that stuff it will make you gag.

The exact thing happened to me!! I got the ink off of the clothes by using shout and tide and the oxy stuff (can't remember the exact name but it's in a small tub and it's a powder) and after two washes the ink was gone and it was on my husband's white dress shirt for work.

I am going to try to use the eraser sponge on the dryer. Let me know what works for you!

As for the dryer, I don't know what to tell you, but I can give you advice on the clothing. If the pen is just a regular writing pen, soaking the clothes in milk will take the ink out. I used to be a teacher and have accidently been written on several times. It seems to work no matter what the fabric. I've had ink stains on cotton, polyester, lycra, wool, and linen. Milk took the stains out without any problem. The worst case was when a little girl stamped my linen suit with red ink. I wasn't able to wash or treat it for about two weeks. (I was traveling and staying with a friend who had a little girl. I took the suit for a business meeting. When I finally got home, my mother told me that milk might take it out.) I soaked it in milk for about four days. I changed the milk a couple times each day. The stain came out completely and you would never know it was there. You will have to wash the clothing a few times afterwards to get the smell of the milk out, but this is the only thing I know that will get the stain out without bleaching or staining the material. I'm not sure if it matters what type of milk or not, but I used low-fat milk. It doesn't usually take more than a couple of days if you catch it right away. Soak. Gently rub the fabric on a clothing board or between your hands. If the stain hasn't come out. Soak again. That's what I do. Good luck. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. I know that some people say that hairspray works, but I wouldn't try it on any colored clothing because a friend of mine just recently had hairspray spill on her skirt. The skirt and the hairspray were in a package sent to her from her mother. We aren't sure how long the hairspray was on the skirt. It caused big white marks on her gray skirt, so we think that it might have bleached it. We are still trying to figure out what will get the hairspray out.

Did this myself a few years ago and a friend told me that hairspray (or its main ingredient and cheeper option- rubbing alcohol) would get it out and it worked wonders, on both the clothes and the dryer. The hairspray is a more expensive option than the rubbing alcohol, but when you get little spots all over an entire load of clothing, the spray is much easier to apply.

Hairspray works on clothes with a little elbow grease and an old toothpaste. I used a bleach solution on the dryer drum etc. I have heard you can soak the clothes in milk for several days but never tried it.

I had a pen go through the dryer once with all of my khaki pants, etc that I had just gotten at Christmas. I didn't think there was any hope since it had been DRIED into the clothes and was ALL over. I went to the satore and bought a tub of Oxy Clean and put a scoop in with the clothes and everything came out! As for the dryer, I used Goo Gone and it all came out.

I dropped a black permanent marker on tan pants and thought I would have to throw them out. A friend told me to try hair spray and a q-tip. Spray the hair spray on the stain and rub it with the q-tip. It took a little effort but it did come out. It is suppose to work with ink too. I don't know about the dryer...try calling the manufacturer to see if they have any suggestions.

i absolutely am hooked on using dawn dish soap for many of those types of things, and have personally had success on the "ink on clothes mess". just make sure you don't use the "dawn with bleach". just squirt it on the clothes and rub it in really good before you wash it. you might even let it sit for awhile before putting it into the washer. there have been times i have had to repeat the process. just depends. good luck.

I had a blue check writing pen (special ink) end up in the washer with white clothing. I have a white linen shirt that I just love, but it had multiple spots of ink. I tried both alcohol and hair spray, neither worked at all. I saw the white tooth paste (Colgate total, advanced clean) on the cabinet and decided to try it as a last resort. I put some on the stains and rubbed with an old toothbrush and all of the ink came out! I would not try this on colors as it probably has some whitening agent in it.

This just happened a few months ago to my mother while we were staying at her house. I believe after searching the internet our solution was to run the dryer on hot (melts the ink) and then wipe clean with water. I tried the hair spray with my clothes but just couldn't get everything out. Good luck.

fingernail polish remover or nail remover with acetone, pour it on a cloth and scrub, it's takes a while, but it gets it all off.

RUBBING ALCOHOL!!! It make take a little "elbow grease" to get it off some of the dryer part, but you can typically pour it on your clothes and watch the ink begin to disolve! It's cheap, and it works!

I know hair spray will work on most fabrics but don't know on the dryer it's self. I don't think it would hurt the dryer.
I have used hairspray on all kinds of home dec fabrics that got ink on it some how. I think someone at work did not like me. Seriously.
