I think it could be a food allergy because I had this same exact reaction to some new tea I drank last week. I stopped drinking it and now I am fine. It was a very annoying problem to have though!!

a doctor could test her for the allergy. another thing could be an allergy to make-up or to your laundry detergent or fabric softener on her pillow

If its just around her eyes I don't think it would be food related. She is 15, is she using eye makeup? Maybe she had something on her hands and rubbed her eyes? It sounds more like something got in here eyes and irritated them. Seasonal allergies?
You might want to go to the eye Dr.

My best friend from childhood was allergic to peanuts but could eat peanut butter. Strange I know. Benadryl over the counter helps conter act allergic reaction just a warning it makes you really sleepy. I take it before bedtime when my allergies act up.

To be on the safe side have her avoid peanut oil. Also, it might be laundry detergent you can build up an allergy to repetitive exposure to something. Wash her sheets with a bit less than usual soap and do an extra rinse.

ok, so ask her what she thinks it is.
She knows what else she has done , and you may not.
Take her for a nutritional work up- contact International Chiropractic Pediatric Assn for a local to do that, then no one will be guessing.
best, k
pls could be allegy, or lack of essential fatty acids, or needs absorbable calcium(not pasturized milk) , there are a number of things that are possible
